you have to remember, we've been on ps2 assets for the entire life of the series.
now that we have the new base that they'll be recycling for another 10 years or more, we will see more unique models and other stuff.

Early HR isn't that much of a jump, you can get away with just upgrading your LR armor if you have a decent set. I had LR Legiana until tier 2 threat monsters in HR.

you want to be filling up your awakening meter and then keeping it for as long as you can, throwing sword attacks until your sword meter gets low, then spamming transform attacks to refill the meter.

finally made this stupid fucking sword! FUCK azure rathalos and FUCK double diablos arena. The sets they give you to use in the arena are so trash. The sword is definitely worth it though IMO. Elementless with a tier 3 jewel slot.

Sometimes the mount can be great, standing it's no good. The r2 from wild swing is the best combo to spam building meter, but the best damage after that is wailing with an amped sword before going back to the combo.

A game with a relatively-steep learning curve, hot anime girl dress-up, giant monsters, and committing to weapon animations seems right up my alley, but I dunno if it's just a huge waste of time that won't let you do the fun bits and/or sucks without friends.

Why don't any of the monsters in World use the environment to fuck you up? It would've been neat if monsters could use environmental hazards to kill you. Like the boulders in the ancient forest or the stalactites in rotten vale.

Piercing shots just absolutely shred Diablos. Also, the HBG set has so much support stuff that the two were just absolutely locked down. I played with someone here and we got 5m 34s. Almost 3m over par. That's insane.

Hyper monsters is such a stupid concept.

It would have been golden if hitting the glowing spots did way more damage. But instead, all it does is allow you to fill up your Hunter Art meter gauge more quickly.

As a result, the fight just ends up feeling more like a damage sponge than anything else.
