When I see people online play they're breaking parts left and right and really fucking monsters up. How do I get to that point? I'm HR14 now should I be at that point already?

Endgame Gunlances

Playstyle #1 (Backswing spam)
Weapons: Barroth Blaster III (3x Attack Augmentations), Eradication Flame
Skills: Basic BM skills (WE3, Max Might 3, etc)

Goal is to spam your back swing (x+y, x, x) as repeatedly, it has the highest MV and benefits most from raw weapons. Is currently the second best GL build in terms of kill times

Playstyle #2 (Full Burst Spam)
Weapons: Royal Burst
Skills: Artillery L3, Handicraft, Cap Up, Protective Polish

Goal is to spam full burst, there's not much else to say about this. Is currently the best GL in regards to kill times.

Playstyle #3 (Charge Shot spam)
Weapons: Earthshaker Magda Lahat
Skills: Focus 3, Artillery 3.

Classic Tri playstyle poke poke shell (charged). Shells take .5 seconds to charge. Might be optimal to do a single poke into shell (charged) x2. Has the slowest kill times in comparison with 1 and 2 but isn't that far behind.

A well-coordinated group will screw monsters in a few minutes.

If you're solo it depends on weapon a lot. Heavier stuff like hammer and CB will make parts fly much easier than SnS, i imagine. Be patient, play more, learn, it'll come by itself and it feels pretty gud desu.

How do you guys practice new weapons ?...I'm about 400 quests with SA and literally nothing else to improve on (can kill most tempered elders in ~10mins). I really want to try other weapons and made a bunch rank 8 weapons for that but i can't seem to adapt and all of them feel really awkward to play, hammer is the only one feel somewhat comfortable but i still take a lot of hits and took ~20mins to kill a HR B.Diablos.

The amount of damage needed for part breaking is the same and does not vary based on weapon. Cutting, blunt, and ease of access to desired part does.

-Use sword mode as much as possible.
-Back and forth morph attacks (R2) to refill sword meter, especially axe swing (O) to R2 is pretty strong.
-Roll a lot so Evade Extender is a must (2 is good enough)
-Don't bother with Elemental discharge.

Lance is fucking top fun solo but absolutely miserable in multi. You get tripped if anybody looks in your general direction and you need the Monster's attention on you at all times for lance to shine
