If you don't do throne for a while and come back to it DO NOT put money in the coffers. The game treats the money as having been in there for the time you haven't been collecting so you could potentially lose a lot of money. Just put 1gp in and then put the amount you want to in.
>You cannot change approval timer
The time your approval rating drops is set to when you finish the quest, always. If you did it at a bad time, oh well. I've tried a lot of things short of just asking mods if they can reset it for me.
>The collection timer can be changed
You can change it by not collecting for +24hrs. Then it's set to whenever you collect from Ghrim. Could be convenient, but kind of annoying that it's not synced to approval time.
>Cutting teaks/mahogany is faster, kinda
You get more approval per log and they're grouped close together, but you get less nests so it's more of a preference here.

went straight to gathering favor and remaxed in like 3 logs
talked to advisor, gave him 1 gp, talked to him again the 1 gp went away, standing went to 0%
i didn't feel like putting in 1m to check if it would eat a ton of money
