Well a general guideline would be:
>avoid big flat space, look for lots of ledges/holes to get some space between you and enemies because most are faster than you at the beginning
>look for lots of ropes to camp on of course, you can cheese most enemies on them. Jumpads are also acceptable
>try to have an escape route in mind if things get too dicey, dont be afraid to be a coward
>be wary of spaces with low ceilings at all times
