It was actually thanks to the range finder I was able to score all that sniper kills. It extends all the way up to 2100m and I was able to hit other tanks before they they hit me.

You very obviously don't have only 2.0 and 2.3 vehicles then. Check your lineup again.

That's arcade for you, if someone brings a 3.7 with nothing else, or just a plane with much lower br (say, 2.3) their overall br will be reduced to 3.3
That's how BF109 F-4 or G55S pilots get themself to lower BR and club much weaker players
