If SNK ever do a MS8, it will certainly filled with reused assets with maybe some of the new characters introduced in MSA and people would complain about that.
And let's be real, it would certainly be a commercial failure.
They could try doing a MS RPG as it would be a way to make every faction playable while teaching players about the MS lore (how many players still think Morden is the big bad when he did nothing wrong?)

Well Kyo is easily the most popular/loved KOF character in the East. Probably the most popular and loved SNK character in the East too. I'm only saying East a lot because he isn't well liked in the West, outside of South America and Mexico ofc(they love Kusanagi cuz 2002), Kyo is popular where ever KOF actually has an audience.

Any particular reason? I had been leaning towards VS because I'm seeing lots of good feeling towards it online. Plus it has a training mode which I'd probably need, I'm fairly shit at fighting games

V Special and VI barely has any story so I guess II if you want that III and IV while can be bad, have decent arcade modes. Also VI is pretty shitty but at least has every character from previous games in weird grooves that don't really feels like the games that should represent it.

As for game itself, I like V Special more even if Nakoruru is pretty shitty in that game. The mechanics make it a less "simplified" game but still retain the high damage, less combo/blockstring oriented feeling.

The PS4 port has decent delay based netcode for regional matchmaking if you don't want to bother with fightcade and dipswitches to train.

Terry would have bigger odds, I suspect - Kyo's rekkas would be tricky to adapt to Smash's system too.

Tehn there's classic Athena, who has more of a history with Nintendo, could have part of her animation adapted from the Fire Emblem cast, and they could do interesting things with her armor and the importance of weight classes in Smash...

They could go with '94/'95 Kyo and slap on the Rekkas without the qcf motions. It would be lame but it could work, they could also give him all his KOF outfits(MI can be skipped).

Not really. Terry has higher odds if they want to pander to burgers, but Kyo Is a great deal more popular than Terry in Japan. Athena is veeeeery unlikely. And having more a history with Nintendo went out the window with Cloud being thrown into the mix. Coming from a game that's never been on a Nintendo system.

Thanks for the infographic duder. I did end up getting V Special, and holy crap is the AI difficult even on the lowest level. Also it seems the arcade mode is just random selection? Since I started and got matched up with a screen filling demon that seemed more like an end boss. Still, it seems pretty rad, hopefully I can improve.

What? Max mode is not a feature only in games with tags or strikers. The difference is that before '99 you did unga damage with Ralf, Chang and Goro Daimon.
