Between ordering my VR kit and getting it, I spent two weeks doing just that.
After I got it, I spent my first week in VRChat being told by every stranger who talked to me that it was shit.

Then I moved to MMD and Maids. Now all I get are compliments. Doesn't matter much for MMD beyond the superficial "Oh hey, someone else who knows this character", but at least for CM3D2 it's my own design people are commenting on. Created with building blocks sure, but it's still my creation people like, and that feels good.

I have 4690k as well, but at 4 GHz and extremely rarely get performance issues.

Hold shift while clicking VRChat run on steam.
Keep holding shift till the pop-up for old unity pops-up and set it to 1280x720 and desktop low.
This only affects the duplicate in desktop monitor but not the VR headset.

Saving a ton of cpu clocks with the only downside being lower quality screenshots.

The only fuck up I really get is some kind of memory leak that crashes the entire PC.
