Was author sued for indecency?

Look at that innie.

Even our ancestors new non-virgins/roasties are disgusting.

Back in the days vaginas were damaged by children rather than benises.

Author? You dont write a painting

I will never understand how clothing that made the wearer look like they were displaying a massive erection became fashionable in Christian countries.

There's a literal art board, the fact mods haven't deleted this shows how retarded Veeky Forums janitors and mod are

...

if youre talking about /ic/ most people there talk about how to make it in the art world or do art critiques on each other.

There is no Art Board for observing art.

There are two boards for drawing, and one for High Resolution images.

/hr/ is slow as shit, and filled with waifus

This artist is interesting

>Jacoulet was born in Paris in 1896 and lived in Japan for most of his life. During World War II, he moved to Karuizawa, where he survived in the countryside by growing vegetables and raising poultry. During the occupation, at the request of General Douglas MacArthur, he was recruited by Commandant Charles McDowell to work at the Tokyo Army College. MacArthur would join Greta Garbo, Pope Pius XII and Queen Elizabeth II, as a prominent collector of Jacoulet's work.

>Paul Jacoulet's creative period was 1939-1960. Jacoulet is considered one of the few western artists to have mastered the art of woodblock printing sufficiently to be recognized in Japan. His works are almost all of people, either portraits or full body images capturing some background details.

>Jacoulet was a true renaissance man –French but born and raised in Japan, expert in Kabuki, proficient on traditional Japanese musical instruments, a good calligrapher, conversant in several languages, and a recognized butterfly collector.

> Growing up in Tokyo he was the next door neighbor of Ukiyoe authority Yone Noguchi; he was taught English by Noguchi's American wife, Leonie Gilmour, and befriended their son, the young Isamu Noguchi. Jacoulet’s father was an ambassador so Paul was widely traveled and was doted upon by his mother. She supported his artistic endeavors all her life. She believed that if French Polynesia was good for Paul Gauguin, then Jacoulet must go there too. She sent him away many winters from Japan to various islands in Micronesia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Although his most valued works are from this part of the world, he also has a substantial number of prints with subjects from China, Korea, all areas of Japan, and Mongolia

There are far worse things than actually posting humanities on this board, even if it is just for boobs

this painting, Portrait of Madame X was at first too lewd to be displayed. The strap on Madame X's right shoulder was originally hanging off her arm, insinuating she was getting undressed. The sensibilities of Parisian society at the period forced John Singer Sargent to alter the painting so that the strap was firmly on her shoulder. Even with the alteration the piece still caused condtroversy at the time. Still a gorgeous work in my opinion.

the subject of the painting, Virginie Amélie Avegno Gautreau, was a Louisiana-born Parisian socialite of Creole ancestry who apparently slutted it up all around high society during the late 19th century

you're a fucking idiot, there are "sports movies" threads on /sp/ not on /tv/. The boards aren't meant to be concentration camps, forbidding movement or overlap

...

Good job removing the image, mods. It's not like it was an actual important painting or anything.

Is this thread for lewd only?

No, you can post trees and shit too.

This is my probably my favorite painting. It expresses deeply what I truly yearn for, a father like mentor to preside as my master of knowledge over my apprenticeship under him. A wise, old sage teaching a young urchin like me the secrets of the world and mind.

Want to get a print of it.

So lewd it was deleted? Post again

Thanks, missed it as I was scrolling. Pretty sure I actually studied this one in high school, at least in passing.
