The bossruns are so that invaders have a chance to interrupt people running into the bossfog with phantoms.

The next Souls/borne game should just go back to Demon's Souls / BB checkpointing where you don't get any midlevel checkpoints (well in BB you got them in some instances but they were pretty rare)

Being instantly able to start right next to the bossfight is the kind of casual cancer that goes directly against Soulsborne series' design principles.

really depends on the boss. if it's your run of the mill souls boss, then sure, there should be a level between bonfire and boss.

but it's someone lucking fucking friede with three stages, a bonfire right in front of the boss is fine.

Friede is acceptable because the Chapel bonfire can be used to reach the Corvian Village and to go down into the Depths of the Painting bonfire

It's generally seen as the most OP build in the game for PVE. On par with great lance in Dark Souls 2 + great hammer damage, if not better.

Just get blackfire orb for anything not rekt by fire.
Get med heal for more efficent heals ainstead of relying on estus

Essentially the only problem is that you're a caster - but thankfully a longsword raw lets you buff it with anything you need at 10 dex

Pyromancy in DS1 is bad. Limited casts (way, way too limited) and generally is useless without the NPC to level it.

On the other hand, in DS3: a pyro build gives you every damage type in the game, better heals, etc.
The only donwside is the stamina but considering how much stamina a roll uses, it's not much problem

Dark souls 1: Chaos is best for pvp, lightning is a close second and works in PVE alot, everything else is just pretty colors
Dark souls 2: Unless you're double buffing (lightning with sunlight blade, etc), there's no point as most enemies have good resistances, your best bet is either raw or no infusion
Dark Souls 3: There's an infusion for everything and you're gonna want to infuse it one way or the other. The current cancer meta is dark infusion since a lot of armor sets don't have high resists for that, chaos is what you put on a dagger for ripostes.

in ds2, if youre a caster, infuse away, since you can buff infused regular weapons just fine.

in ds3 you should always infuse. if you level dex/str, take the respective infusion, if you level int or fai or both, either go raw and buff or get an elemental weapon.

elemental weapons are also good as a backup if you cant be arsed to recast weapon buffs all the time.

In 3 it's worth infusing a weapon 99% of the time. I'm not sure if they fixed it, but some katanas at least used to be better uninfused than refined on a quality build.
Just pick your build-appropriate infusion, ie the one that scales with your damage stat(s).
