Göring

/k/ doesnt like this guy. Then again ...

Sure we can supply Stalingrad from the air!

(What's a Stalingrad?)

Tito really loved his uniforms didn't he?

How did he manage it? Head of the Luftwaffe AND the Yugoslav partisans!

Amazing!

This quite possibly my favourite historical theory of all time.

Not that I think he was a great leader or anything, but to be fair, Göring wasn't the only guy promising the impossible from airpower in the war. Hell, he wasn't even as bad as Chennault's claim that if he could get escorts, he could drive the entire Japanese army out of China with 500 heavy bombers and no need for ground offensives.

Goring once told Adolf Galland that he (Goring) was intellectually challenged when trying to operate a radio set -- whether civilian or military he didn't specify. The man had no business heading a technological arm like an air force.

dude had a 138 iq

Most people who attain cabinet level positions are usually pretty damn smart, even in Nazi Germany.

>Radar stations?
>Airfields?
>Why would we ever need to bomb those?

Cover art for my rap album desu

same age as me right now...
woulnd mind getting tattooed that face on my skin.

Putting a fighter ace in that position is at least a good ide for propaganda reasons.

Goring was in private life a nice guy. You just didn't want to get on his bad side in terms of business.

The important thing is he escaped and gave Yugoslavia many decades of benevolent dictatorship.

>The man had no business heading a technological arm like an air force.
Arguably none of the people in charge of their respective air forces truly understood what air combat was like in WW2 as they were all used to air combat in WW1 and had a completely different idea from what the reality in the skies was like.

The loss at the Battle of Britain was not such much Goering's fault as there was little he could have done in the first place given the means at the time. His only fault was not realising that this was an effort of futility and properly informing Hitler about it (which possibly would have cost him his job with Hitler putting someone else in charge rather than giving up on the endeavour).

Wouldn't have made a difference. You couldn't win a war from the air at the time. Even the combined efforts of the US and Britain who fielded much heavier bombers in much greater numbers than Germany couldn't bring Germany to her knees, there was absolutely no way for Germany to beat Britain like that.

fat druggie had a huge air force and crippled it in the Battle of Britain.

1. destroy radar
2. destroy oil and fuel
3. destroy airplane factories.
4. don't bomb civilians
5. don't bomb airfields(seriously they'e just strips of grass and the brits would operate out of tents if they had to).

/k/ is filled with retards. They all deserve to die.

Hering, Hering, so fett wie de Göring!

I disagree. GB negotiating peace with Germany would have been access to the Wehrmacht, guarantees of all her colonies, and Churchill's retirement, as well as loss of presitige for losing Poland.

Britian was losing the airwar until the Blitz and likely would have surrendered. Nobody thought Britian had a chance after France capitulated.

Britian was also going to talk peace if they lost Egypt.

Of course, Admiral Raeder was telling Hitler this was the most important theater of the war but Hitler was too busy with the Blitz and plotting against Russia to take the constant memos seriously.

However, I do agree, the Germans had no way of knowing this or knowing if their attacks were making a dent at all. Nobody had used air power in a war so nobody knew what actually worked.

Hitler got all personal about the civilian bombings and made a call. And it was the wrong one.

Pretty sure Göring was fatter.
