It's a relationship that seems extremely rare even if it doesn't have to be a romantic one.
Them being very close friends and knowing just how troubled the other is is a nice idea. Having someone that understands them as more than "Rich kid who's an asshole". If Nathan manages to survive the final timeline before Jefferson can kill him, then I could see Victoria being one the few people to visit him in whatever mental facility he deservedly wound up in. Even if it took a fair amount of time for Victoria to realize she wanted to visit him. Nathan can never undone the pain he's caused, and some would never forgive him, but I think whatever he and Victoria had was strong enough to survive in some form.

He trusts her enough to bitch about his family to her.

I also feel like it's not a coincidence that he dies when she's the next stated target

If there was anything that snapped Nathan out of it, it was realizing Victoria was potentially going to get hurt.
Nathan and Rachel were friends in some way and he contributed towards killing her. He wanted to fight to prevent the same from happening to Victoria. He's still an asshole for only objecting when it was someone he cared about, but it's admirable in a way.

What if he was trying to get close to her so that he could easily lure her to the dark room. Nathan was working with Jefferson for a while and must have known that Victoria was next.

Yup. Those two are who spawned everyone's favorite little time-traveling hipster dork. The models are really impressive because Ryan only had one decent quality image of him in the game and Vanessa only appeared as a text message icon and in a small photo in Max's locker. Yet they both feel so real and accurate there.
Even from that one second of animation I can feel parts of Max's personality coming from both of them.

No way. He doesn't have to do shit if that was his reason. Take Kate - all he did was offer to drive her to a hospital once he roofied her at a party.

Yeah, definitely. Rachel's death still obviously fucked him up, but not enough to come clean - whether it was because he didn't want to lose his relationship with Jefferson, fuck up like his dad expects him to, or something else. I think realizing that a repeat of what happened to Rachel could happen to Victoria snaps him out of it - but only to the point where he thinks his death would solve anything (and it doesn't).

You can honestly tell they're close just from their body language. Taylor says they've got a brother sister thing going for them, and I could see that. I think they feel like they can be real with each other. And I agree, Victoria would definitely visit him. It might take a while because Nathan fucked up hard, but they've got a strong bond. Maybe Victoria might even feel guilty that she couldn't stop him from spiraling or help him (even though she's not responsible for that).

Well for what it's worth, there's a slim chance he survives because the timeline changes at the end. Max and Chloe don't go to the party, but Nathan is logically still alive at that point since Max only gets his message when she's already in the Dark Room. Jefferson gets arrested with someone in Dark Room (And Victoria may be in SF with Wells at the gallery since she won. So the only other real possibility is Nathan in the Dark Room.)
It's one of those things that may only be the result of a plot hole or something, but it for whatever reason someone wanted to conclude Nathan is alive then they have some basis.

Being arrested wouldn't do anything. Only death can fix that waste of a life

Nobody has posted anything apologetic about him ITT. The discussion about his character is something that hasn't happened in a while and is interesting.
No forgiving the things he did, but to act like he was some heartless cartoon villain isn't right either. It's much more complex, and tragic, than that. Nathan and Rachel are the same in that their lives were destined to be fucked because of the families they were born into. Both of the meeting Jefferson only made an already bad situation worse.
