I really liked what I read of the plot synopsis I just played Persona 3 portable for the first time and I'm really in the mood for "Something is deadly wrong with this school but everyone knows it" instead of Persona's know one knows anything attitude.

I think the main similarity with Persona comes from having social link events. Otherwise it's like a regular Jrpg with a unique battle system.

The story and character events are quite interesting though.

I have finished a ton of hack-n-slash/beat-em-ups on their hardest difficulty. Apparently NOTHING prepared me for Knack on Hard

My feelings for this game can be summed up by this discovery

Presumably the reason you're moving slowly is to prevent slipping on the floor. If it's a character's decision to move slowly it doesn't matter if they're on the floor or not.

I mean I guess, but when you are sliding down declines he makes no attempt to slow down, and if you jump and dodge you go super slow and then revert back to normal speed the instant you hit the floor

It really just sucks trying to dodge attacks when only the double jump, especially the parts with multiple archers

Is it actually difficult or is it just time-consuming with the occasional cheap death? I had assumed it would be boring and easy but I might pick it up if it's boring and genuinely hard.

If you play it on hard mode its boring by hard. Everything so far 1-2 shots you.

I kind of really hate to do this, but it's a bit like Dark Souls. It's hard as fuck if you just rush, but if you take your time it's moderately challenging.
