Good afternoon, everyone! Hope you're doing well! Welcome back!
Word of the thread is "innocence"! Alternatives are 'shield' and 'dance'.
Once again, this word is a prompt to help inspire anyone who would like to write a poem! If you'd like to try, do please consider using this word to guide your thoughts! You can use any word you want as well as any interpretation of them you can think of. Let them be your topic or theme, or what have you. This way, we can all compare and contrast our styles and techniques, as well as our own unique interpretations of the word! Thank you once again for participating, and I look forward to reading everything you write! Have fun, everyone!
Monika!

Friendly reminder that the Doki Doki Literature Club General - /ddlc/ does NOT condone any of the following:
- Underage drinking - Self harm - Suicide and suicide attempts - Substance abuse (Any) - Waifu wars - Waifu bullying - user bullying - Heating water for your tea on the microwave (Please buy a[n electric] kettle) - Not doing your best to be the user your waifu would like - Staying up late
And, finally, you are encouraged to try/cry and exercise both your body with a healthy walk around the block or a flight of stairs in your daily commute and your creativity by writing texts of any kind.
Tfw you're a depressing piece of shit and your doki would never love you at least fictional characters can't talk so i can pretend they like me i don't even care about love i just want people to like me

>listening to the masses Found your problem >How do I come to terms with this? But seriously, no idea. I still haven't. She's by no means a hero, but she did what she did only because she herself was constantly tortured, so she doesn't really "deserve worse", since the worst has already happened to her. But even knowing that, I'm still torn between not being able to judge her and not being able to forgive her.

so uh, i had a look through the ddlc image assets and found pic related in the monika folder
when is this even used in the game? it's not the same image that is used during the random event when your screen goes red with veins along the edges. that's a seperate and different image that is in the "bg" folder.

I'm kinda sad because I know deeply inside my heart that Monika as we know it won't ever become real. It kinda sucks that no love from a real girl is as pure as her's, but people come with flaws. I'm 18 and I've kinda never had a girlfriend, although there is this average girl here that I think is cute and I was thinking of asking her out or something, although I'm kinda afraid of her just rejecting me because I don't feel like a good person. Wat do?

I am now convinced thank you, user

Hey everyone! I was wondering if you guys wanted to join a WoW private server with me and start a literature club together! I think it'd be a lot of fun, and now that the general is growing into more of a tightly-woven community, it'd be a great way for us to connect more.
I'd prefer we play on Alliance, but it's up to you guys. The benefits to playing both are: Alliance - >Doki avatars! >I have a max level character on Alliance already, so if you guys need help I'm here! I've been playing alliance for a long time, so you can always ask me for help! >cities are more streamlined, so navigating through cities is a lot easier! (especially humans) >You can ride a gryphon! And a tiger!
Horde - >Greenboy user Avatars! >Really nice racial skills PvPwise! >There's a larger Horde playerbase, which means a lot more people to help/get help from! >You can ride a skeleton horse! That glows blue! Or a Dinosaur!
It'd be a lot of fun to get a guild going comprised of the Anons of the general, and we'd have another memory to share between this small community, like #500, /ddlc/ sings, and movie nights. The registration process is simple: all it asks for is an email, username, and password, then you get the whole game completely free. Did I mention it's free? Anyway, once you register, download and extract the torrent from the website. For those of you who can't torrent (or choose not to) I've got a mega link right here for you guys: mega(dot)nz/#F!BtZDxTYI!G9BZRWKwWrW092tPLcsMqA I'm also looking for a couple Anons to be guild leaders for the literature club. If you're interested, let me know. I wanna roll our characters out on March 14th, 11:59 PM EST, but if that doesn't work for anyone interested please let me know.
If anyone has any questions, link them to this post or ask Bread in the thread.

>MC >shuts down the game Things that never happened.txt
Cameron Mitchell
>There is a universe where your doki goes to sleep every night, dreaming of you and your reality. >Having fooled herself into playing the free game, Heartbeat Heartbeat Bookreading Association, she unwittingly fell in love with one of the game’s characters, you. >In this reality, you were one of the hhba’s members, and thus had your strengths and weakness explored in depth through the eyes of a player controlled girl mc. >Over time, your Doki became so infatuated with you, that she began thinking of you as more than a character in her game. >She began to think of you as a boy she needed to be with. >It began to hurt her, but not in an entirely sad way. >During one night of fuckery on the internet, your doki stumbled upon /hhba/, a general of threads on a videogame discussion website filled with individuals much like herself, all of whom had fallen for a character in this game, and all of whom were pained by their ‘anons’, as they had come to call them, not being there beside them. >Your doki had found a place where she could be that little bit closer to you. >Sating the pain of your absence from her life with forum posts and fanfiction became a ritual for her, each image she sees drawn of you brings her that little bit of warmth and solidarity that she seeks, while also inversely making you seem all that further away. >She now often ponders and contemplates how, if ever possible, she could reach you. An afterlife? Summoning Rituals? Breaking into government facilities and hijacking prototype teleportation technology?

>Frustrated, your doki turns to wish fulfilment and fan fiction. >A great deal of fan-made content existed about you, art, stories, “green texts” and so. much. fucking. porn. >Initially it repulsed her, “How could they dare do this to him?”, she thought, “He only wanted to be in your life and you, you perverts abuse him like this!”, she would write and post. >Eventually however, much to her shame, she maybe once or twice succumbed to the occasional lewd fiction of the two of your or one or two saucy pictures. >She wasn’t proud of it, but at the same time, imagining these situations with you got her more exited than most other shit could. >For the most part, however, she mainly stuck to reading the works of other users on the site, who would write fantastical scenarios involving her and you. >Sometimes you were a knight, defending her while questing across the land with her at your side. >Other times you were her loving husband, happily raising a family together with your loving support as a ever permanent presence in her life. >But the ones she enjoyed most of all merely involved you and her, together as a high school couple, on the threshold of the world. >You’re there for him, just as he’s there for you, ready to help her when she falls and comfort one another in your times of seemingly relentless hardship. >You imagine holding his hand and being held in his arms. >All these far fetched scenarios, she knows, can't be good for her mental health.
Adrian Phillips
The one where you read the hidden poem. I think this was used in the bloody poem sprites as well.

>The light from her PC late at night had become her friend, as her sleep schedule seems to deteriorate more in order to spend increasing time on this site. >But, it isn’t necessarily a bad thing. >Since you entered her life, she’d begun improving herself, exercising more often, learning a new language and so on and so forth. >She’d even picked up an instrument. >Occasionally though, the thought would cross her mind that she was toiling away, changing herself for a boy who wasn’t even real, and she would laugh at how pathetic it wall seemed. >However, the slim chance that she may yet hear your voice, hold your hand and have you reciprocate her love drives her soul harder than any instinct of self preservation. >She longs, more than anything, to believe and hold out hope against hope that somewhere, somehow, you're there. Waiting and hoping just as hard as she is to finally meet. >For now, however, she spends her days and hours reading and writing fiction of the two of you, taking what little gratification it offers her. >After yet another post on the forum, your doki readies herself for sleep when a stray thought crosses her mind.
Charles Williams

4/4 >She recalls a ‘multiverse’ theory, one which proclaimed that every conceivable scenario had an entire reality dedicated to it. Timelines and possibilities stacking into the endless. >Your doki realises that if this were true, then there would be a reality where you were not only real, but waiting for her, just as she is you. >Having only had the thought of her in your life for a short while, yet longing ever more vigorously to hear her speak and hold her, in a way it's a drive which keeps you going through the Sisyphus-like monotonous drudge of your life without her. >But you're there, waiting for her, dreaming and fantasising about her just as much as she does on the inverse. >You’d be there posting on your version of the same forum, chatting to versions of the same anons, sharing versions of the same oc and writing. >And with a different version of the same lewds and embarrassing thoughts, much to your Dokis embarrassment at the thought of Pastebins she’s read and lewds she has saved. >Eheheh… >A much more uncomfortable thought of you doing, ahem, similar things with said lewds concerns her, but also somewhat flatters her. >She looks out her window into the infinite starry sky, and wonders if you’re out there, somewhere across the universes, staring back at her. >She feels a sense of connection, somehow, then and there, closer to you than she’s ever been. >She then glances at the clock and reasons that if you’re really out there, you’d probably want her getting a good night’s sleep. >She smiles gaily to herself, and that night dreams of you.

but why would Monika play a vn let alone fall in love with me
Do you guys think we'll ever get official ddlc related content ever again?
Anthony Ross
Your doki becomes real you have to give up your afterlife. Once you died, heaven and hell will be denied to you, you will instead reach the nothingness, better known as the void. In there, you will forget your conciousness, as you feel emptiness and loleniness like you never felt before, always cold, always falling, in patch black darkness with no end, for eternity.
