Trying to tell a story from the perspective of 36 different characters would be repetitive as fuck and would only be able to cover a very short period of time. Switching to a more conventional narrative structure from CP onward was the right choice.

They didn't need to tell the same story for everyone. They didn't even bother with many from CP onwards like Tao. Telling a story about characters I don't care I just... won't care. The whole Extend stuff along with this linearity made me get away from the franchise. Only got CPEX in a good sale. Same with CF but after Jubei was announced. I wouldn't even bother with Mai if didn't get a sale and I had extra money in the PSN wallet.

I'm still thinking about BBTAG since I already have Rachel, Nu and Chie to play with the base game and Blake looks like an anime Subzero with her clones. Besides, story is the least of my concerns in a crossover but this one looks lazy using their character portraits.
