>baihu weapons >useful for magna No, they're really only useful for varuna/europa/bonito teams (i.e. normal water modifier). Getting pendants isn't hard, you can leech to 30k with relative ease. Considering it's your first time though, you shouldn't worry about weapons.
You should worry about gold bricks. Get as many nuggets as you can. Once you clear out 10 nuggets, it resets, and keep resetting until the total 100 nuggets have been gotten. (You won't get all 100 this time, you'd be lucky to get 30 of them). But that should be your main priority. Also, get the pots and berries too (maybe get them first to help you out).

It's not just because of grim and nio. The whole 25k+ hp requirement for UBHL is a meme. Zeus light players do UBHL just fine with 18k hp and no damage reduction. Even accounting for Nio's passive 20% damage reduction, 15k hp is still roughly only 19k effective hp.

Lots of the weapons are amazing placeholders and can be good well into the game. They're the best farmable normal mod weapons that pair well with baha if you don't have a team that can run atma.
The wiki says gold chests can drop scales in the extreme daily. But can the scales only drop from the end boss? The guy before it also drops a gold chest.
