the power of items you get is based on the highest power level item you've gotten, not your character's power
so if the highest you've gotten is 130
you're not going to suddenly jump to a 160 power item
it'll gradually climb the more you open chests

The scorecard does appear to be fucked. I often have simultaneously done the least damage and got the most kills as WHC. His head shot passive does not seem to register any damage for whatever reason.

I've played with a friend and the scorecards we each got were different. So yeah, chances are all these people posting their fancy high scores actually didn't get that score on someone else's screen.

So it looks like iron breaker is going to be my jam. Liked doing that shield bash right click to zone forever. That ultimate looks incredibly powerful to boot.
