/scg/edg/ Star Citizen Elite Dangerous General #257

Bullying Skimmers, Oxley Style Edition

ED info:
pastebin.com/zEufftYe

Elite Dangerous is currently in Chapter 1 of the Beyond expansion, patch number 3.0. It comes free with the Horizons expansion and aims to focus on refining core gameplay and new content.

Thargoids have crippled AEGIS-related starports in the Pleiades and are now appearing in human space. Be aware that while the Targoid Interceptors are not normally hostile, Scout Marauders absolutely are.
Starport repair requirements have been reduced to 10% of their original values and may actually be feasible now.

>Bullying Skimmers
Better get on that while you can. It's going to get nerfed HARD and I doubt they'll even wait until Thursday maintenance to do it.

I feel sorry for that faction getting raped by thousands of cmdrs

So I just cracked a billion.... whats the most expensive A rated ship and how much does it cost?

How long until oxley gets nerfed

eddp.co/u/SbtHiJRB

Today probably. This method can pull in 300M/hr if the board is good. They're not going to let that stand at all.

Hopefully it isn't nerfed before I get back.

The weeks/months of grind bypassed by getting mats as rewards is better desu

What do forum dads mean when they claim Oxley is ruining the economy? What economy? Billionaires already exist due to past exploits so why the fuck do they care if newer players join them? Is this a case of "I got mine so fuck you?"

Boomer logic doesn't have to make sense.

something something i have to work while people are making easy money waah

After this Oxley thing gets nerfed anyone want to team up, I'm rather new at this game.

"Fact people aching for such exploits saddens me. they pervert their own gameplay. Not seeing them sticking around after this gets fixed.
If it is all about money to do play candy crush."

Your still goong to be doing that to an extent since the rewards don't include raw materials.

It will be nice prospecting in a brand new A rated Conda though.

Maybe I will take out the type 10 or even my new corvette.

With 6 billion cr you can do anything.

In what way does it not affect us? When I know it, when I see the stupid payouts which make no in-universe sense on the board, how does it not affect me? It most certainly forcesmeto not engage in content I would to enjoy because I know it would spoil the game for me. I buy video games on the premise that the designers did the work for me of providing a well-rounded, well-balanced experience, that I would only need to concern myself with playing the game and that fun would come naturally from it.

When I have to be careful tonot play the gamebecause parts of it are imbalanced and not working as intended, how can it not affect me?

for a second I thought you were being serious, then I saw who you were quoting

...

Exploiters are destabilizing the servers, you should all be banned

>getting shadowbanned
hahahahahahah

get them while you can dads

f

It was fun while it lasted

Odd fdev never seems to move this quick on fixes.

probably just the servers becoming mush when 90% of the active playerbase gather in two areas

When they add the new squadron mechanics someone should definitely start a group.

>implying there isn't already one

You'll be able to start one in game though and buy a carrier and shit

Motherfucker. I finish work at lunchtime today and was looking forward to more gainz. I love fucking around and exploring in this game but I want to do it in an expensive, powerful ship so I can feel strong and bully npcs. I can't do that in a fucking D rated Dadbra.

Hah and it would be a thread started by the biggest FDev felcher I've ever seen.

>carrier
That'll be retardly expensive

>Mission boards are giving me server communication errors.
Has it already begun?

it is already over, user

just the server buckling under everyone trying to get shit, if you keep trying it eventually goes through

Good thing we're all billionaires here

Anyone want to go dad hunting

Only 32K people

try any other quest and you'll see that it only affects the skimmer ones

Half that. Leaving and entering the system is counted as an individual ship.

Why does nobody use the suicidewinder. It's the cheapest to rebuy

that's at least 1000 instances in the same spot

The rebuy cost for the viper I am using is 30k. literally nothing compared to what I earned ;_;

I've just tried to do a donation mission and it's the same as the skimmers

My rebuy is 10,000 because I had to fit a shield and armor onto it. Going to do some more grinding until I break 1 billion once I get home.

It was nice while it lasted lads

Eh, with these payouts it doesn't matter much. I might go back for a bit more mats on a chieftain, just because it's already modded, fast and can tank for years if a taipan spawns.

I guess so. I might start using my imperial eagle to see how well it does in combat

>don't even care about the money
>got dozens of grade 5 mats

Typical I only started late last night, was gonna go to work farming mats and dosh this evening. This better just be server overload.

same, I was halfway to colonia but turned around yesterday to get in on this

>tfw only made 30 million

>The new haul wing missions are anEXPLOIT for easy credits for new players.
>The main problem is that the reward is an absolute value and it doesn't consider the effort of the player in completing the mission.
>VoilĂ  a new player with a brand new sidewinder that he doesn't even know how to dock has alreay got the pockets full of credits and he can directly afford the big ships without any experince nor knowledge of the game itself
They just can't stop

>A player in a sidewinder, completing a mission to haul a literal kilotonne of shit, that could take anywhere up top over a hundred round trips will have no experience in the game.

If a new player sticks around doing that garbage they deserve the payout.

>Well I think in this game we have enough newbies with powerful ships shooting down for no reason other players in PvP.
How horrible.

>Bloody children running around with shotguns and plasma in their souped up hotrods! Bloody nuisance the lot!

By the time they finish the mission they will know how to play.

Or give up on the game if they had nobody else to haul the cargo with

mission board still non functional?

Yup

I was able to make 400 million by the time I got around to it, my friend was grinding much longer and made I think 2 billion or more.

All the crying boomers on the forums are hilarious though, gotta pull that ladder up behind them, just like real life.

forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/411857-Skimmer-Massacre-Mission-Temporary-Removal?p=6476538

Called it

So what do we do now? Palin?

F

...

>Earning 100 to 300 million credits per hour in a viper is not as intended. If it was then they wouldn't have temporarily removed this mission.

>Why do other careers if you can earn so much more with this massacre mission bug? It unbalanced the game.

>What would happen if everyone suddenly had $1 billion in their bank account? Hyperinflation. The value of that currency would plummet.
Holy fuck. Can someone put this cuck out of his misery.

Whoever said that is a delusional retard.

>Hyperinflation.
Yeah, Federation and Empire would literally go bankrupt and the bubble would collapse.

I still miss robigo lads

still mad, huh, dad? maybe take a nap.

> Considering EVERY exploit in ED is exacerbated by mode-switching/board-hopping do you think, rather than switching off every single part of the game the idiots start exploiting, you could perhaps... FIX MODE-SWITCHING?!?!?
This dad is having dangerous thoughts

Maybe you wouldn't look so dumb if you had some decent reading comprehension skills.

>oh no I'll have to play the game properly

He just posts anime and calls everyone dads, ignore him

Correction, it goes back into the backlog.

I think he was the one who submitted a bug report about it

If the game had an actual economy, like say, World of Warcraft, I could see his point making sense. Elite is a glorified single player game, the economy is an illusion.

Thank god for that, having ways to access the full content of a game you've paid for is unacceptable. Want an Anocanda or Corvette? Sorry kid better get in your sidewinder and toil for five years just like real life.

>you should get the most powerful stuff just for having bought the game
preorder mentality in a nutshell.

I'd toil for five years if I could get a Corvette IRL, desu

Why don't they just make stuff actually pay decently so people don't have to jump from exploit to exploit to get enough credits to actually enjoy the game?

>end game content should take so long to acquire the game might be dead before you get there

ok dad

Because dad's will get angry because it isn't a real grind

The fact active players skyrockets and people are so desperate for money should tell devs what a large portion of the userbase wants. General play in this game is much better if you're in a cool, expensive ship. Dads might be happy in their Cobras but they should accept that these games are escapism and top end ships, or even just the freedom to experiment with every ship's strengths/weaknesses are what people want not literally years of excruciating grind at the bottom end disguised as the so called 'intended experience'

Woah there, we can't have reasonable payouts that scale with your ranks and ships, you have to work 8 hours a day just to support your shiny new corvette, otherwise it feels cheap. Btw the most boring and bland jobs should be the most playing, we don't want to encourage opportunism, do we?

I got in a bit late but managed to make 187 million, what should I best spend them on?

>entire mission system is still fucking nonsensical and in dire need a complete rework
>spend time nerfing mission payouts
There's not enough time in the universe for me to adequately express just how much I fucking hate these """people""".

>Giving exploration a shot
>Ok there are no stations anymore
>How do I scan planets
>I have no fuel where can I find some
Kill me lads

They have a twisted perception of what this game is, if you just want to pew-pew on the biggest most powerful ship this game just isn't for you, you should stop complaining and poisoning the community.

Call the fuelrats or sudoku, senpai. You need a fuel scoop and advanced+detailed scanners.

they've already made things pay too much compared to launch

>I don't understand how anyone can sincerely defend the existence of this exploit.

>Consider any generic MMO. If an exploit was found that allowed skipping to 80% of the level cap for a few hours' action spamming, it would be seen for what it was and all progress received using it would be reverted. Why should anything justify keeping the loot in Elite?

What's best, they blame people for finding them, not FD for having a broken system that can't handle edge-case scenarios

To be fair edge cases are a bitch to deal with.

People who are going to play will continue to do so. If you think having a big ship will make you enjoy the game then so be it.

Except this isn't an MMO.

Shit like long-range missions is obvious as fuck. don't tell me they haven't heard about hutton orbital

Good thing ED is literally the opposite of an MMO.

Get the best ship you can afford to buy and A-rate. Then start engineering that bad boy.

Hey what's up guys, first time here, I've always heard of Star Citizen since a long time yet never tried it.

Is there a lot of content already available?
Is it a pay to win with this ship system?
Is my i5-8400 + gtx 1060 enough?
