There was a dude a thread or two back complaining about his sledge dropping to 40~% after the first wave and not being able to repair it — remember that you can bring materials in with you. While I wouldn't advise it while doing quickmatches with randoms, in a group it's definitely viable to bring enough mats to repair a few times and not have them yanked out from under you to make something useless.
