It's always the case since every SK game since SV uses the same completely unguarded file format with no encryption.
Easy route: >get Vanilla API for Steam games and run it to unlock all the DLC >get any scene release (ALI213, CODEX, 3DM, etc) EXE and api file
Hard route: >manually edit the steam api on your own

Space Wars exploit has existed on Steam for years, and Gabe is too fat to bother with it. TL;DR: you trick Steam into thinking your game is a test app (Space Wars), and it will run the game online just fine. Granted, there's always the chance of a ban, so I wouldn't suggest using your main steam account to do it.
