Anyone that dies in lyn mode comes back in weed/hector mode, the only thing lyn mode does is it gives you extra levels/bonus items for a few units some get better bases in weed mode if you skip lyn mode anyway. Just find a save with lyn mode done, start eliwood/hector mode fresh, and don't be afraid to early promote.

Mine is +6, but my feathers have recently been going to other things. It's on my to do list certainly.

infantry pulse on a bulky red is nice, she helped me complete most of the infantry quests. She's really good at taking a few hits and then murdering something with bonfire.

Saias will have a variant of Valflame that provides a smaller version of Attack Tactic and Res Tactic and will also have Defence Tactic as a C skill to mirror Arvis having Attack/Res Ploy on his Valflame and Defence Ploy as his C skill.
