It's really more like

>over time, complex societies are susceptible to increased levels of rent-seeking that undermine institutions and make the society as a whole more vulnerable to collapse

but that's less catchy

Afghanistan has been in a state of hard times since 1979

They should have plenty of strong men to create good times by now but they aren't

Depends on how you define good times

if you're an inward-looking society and your goal is to resist outside intervention, Afghanistan has done a good job of weathering two major invasions by the great powers of the last century while remaining (for better or worse) quite unchanged in it's national character.

The rise of the Taliban was a Pakistani invasion though.

well yeah I guess if you ignore the whole "consistently ranks on the bottom of all objective measures of development" Afghanistan is certainly in the good times phase

>Depends on how you define good times
So in other words, the OP's thing is so vague that you can shoehorn basically any situation into it and make it work, making it totally meaningless

So what you're saying is the Great Society is the death of America

There is virtually no way you can claim Afghanistan is in a period of prosperity no matter what metric you use to evaluate prosperity. Their country is a war-torn shithole.

>Hard times create strong men
Yeah, most of the time. Unless the hard times fuck the society so bad that it can't recover.
>Strong men create good times
Sometimes. Very situational. Just because a society has strong men doesn't mean it will be successful. Be more likely, though.
>Good times create weak men
Definitely agree with this one
>Weak men create hard times
Yeah, this one too.

We had this thread yesterday. With a different OP pic.

>Syrian war: really hard times
>Created ISIS: pretty hard men

I guess now we only have to wait for them to create a utopia.

Inshallah the global caliphate will be a paradise. Every man will have four wives.

You will see, kuffar.

Following the righteous path of tawheed and taqwa is already utopic you kaffir

>national character

Afghanistan is not a nation state. And it changed quite a lot after the rise of the Mujahedin and Taliban, which was essentially a Pashtu (who are a minority btw) takeover from the previous Tajik leadership.

How will they achieve this without killing 3/4 of all men?

Allah and his Messenger (pbuh) blessed us with the science of planned parenthood, kuffar.

Mash'llah!

By castrating 3/4 of all men

go fuck a goat

Only if you don't cut out the cancerous parts (i.e. Capitalists)
