You can join a match with someone on your friend list at any point. I have issues with crashing, possibly a dying graphics card, and it helped a lot when playing with a group from here. If you're playing with randoms maybe try adding them, though if you have to wait for them to accept then that might not work.

One full exploration team is actually 26 to care for and you can get 25 with a net positive on supply so you need to get Food Supply and Base Development with at least one up to B to manage all 26, which seeing as you can get up to S in general means a lot of base digs for those manuals. Pruning will just help shave some DAYS of waiting till that point.

The manuals are a 100% drop, the problem is they're random. I got 3 from Plan 3 iirc, and while there's hidden additional perks as you level up a team, there's not that many teams worth bothering with until we get a REAL ENDGAME like level 60 Wanderers and 4+ wave salvages.

You can withdraw inbetween waves keeping the rank you earned already. If you fail on a wave, entire plan goes to shit.
