It's just a way for the round to end quicker by forcing everyone outside/killing any SCPs still inside.. Lore wise, CI's goal is to set off the nuke while NTF prevent it from going off.

Protip: When playing as Larry, close doors wherever you are, especially heavy. This can result in NTF/CI getting lost, or at least getting held up a bit while you try and banish them. Also, it keeps them from following the simple trail of open doors leading to your room should someone escape and not have a good enough keycard.

It depends on where your enemies are. If the facility is full of SCPs and they're locked in, then by all means nuke the place if you can. But if the SCPs/Chaos are all outside roaming around, then the nuke is more harm than good.
It's also a good case for keeping the god damned gate doors shut, so that the SCPs will be trapped inside during the nuking.

I think this game is bugged. It's twice no that I've spawned as SCP 055 and while I'm playing people just move past me. It's easy enough to just tag along with some furfag and get back to the surface but this bug makes it too easy.
