What Christian denomination would Jesus most likely belong to if he was still alive today?

What Christian denomination would Jesus most likely belong to if he was still alive today?

The Quakers

He was what we call a 'muslim'

None, he'd be a jew. Not in Pauls fake religion for gentiles.

Both of these posts are in agreement then: ironically enough, Jesus would not agree with the Christian interpretation of theology at all.

That's interesting if this isn't a shitpost, how and why would Jesus be a Muslim?

Because he simply believed his God was one God. The same as the Jews at the time, which the Koran would call 'muslim' as well.

Jesus would not believe in Paul.so interpretation. He did change some covenants and culture, but every new prophet does that.

I doubt he would worship himself. So Muslim or Jewish actually sounds right

I think he would have his own denomination

Jesus would be an Ebionite.

So basically a Muslim then?

Nation of Islam obviously

>So basically a Muslim then?

No. For one, an Ebionite wouldn't recognize the validity of Mohammed as a prophet.

Probably the one he founded who had Peter as its rock.

A copt

Jesus is God.

Christianity is the knowledge that Jesus is God, risen from the dead.

And Jesus is very much alive today. More than you are.

Judaism (Essene)

So, none whatsoever.

>Call a guy "Satan".
>Catholics worship that guy's mom and that guy he called Satan.

He'd be a Jew, like he was during his life.

Jesus frequently shamed Jews by showing the faith gentiles like Samaritans and that Roman centurion had.

>Jesus thinks he is two messiahs.

Doubt it.

This is the correct answer for then.

Not the correct answer for now.

Well if we really wanna make him a modern Christian, I'd say he'd be in charge of his own denomination.

So why did he return to the Apostles for his resurrection? By your retard literal logic Jesus should have wanted nothing to do with any of them.

>if he was still alive today

Does this question presupposes there was no crucifixion? Or that there was a crucifixion but he resurrected and has been living among us since?

If there was a historical Christ, and he was alive today 2000 years later, world History would have taken a very different turn, so the question is moot, there would be no need for the Gospels as you would learn the "Word of God" from the man himself, no gospels means no Early Christian Church as we known it and then no schisms, we would all be living under an unified Church, separate denominations would simply not exist as there would be no room for different interpretations, whenever a Theological polemic starts all sides would simply ask Jesus.

He is.

So that they would know he is alive, and tell us.

Lapsed Catholic

Aye, but if he did not raise from the dead, we would not know if his sacrifice was accepted by the Father.

And if he stayed among us, we would not have the Holy Spirit here to resurrect us to eternal life, teach us the scriptures, and translate our prayers to God for us.

So it was ok for Peter to spread Jesus teachings, but not for him to be the rock of his church?

Your logic is failing and cherry picks the bible. Typical proteshit behavior.

It was okay for all of them to tell people what they witnessed. And they did. In different areas.

Peter is actually the apostle to the Jews in the bible, and Jesus' letter to the seven churches from the Revelation 65 years later doesn't include Rome.

Orthodox

islam

atheism

>Not realizing Jesus was the biggest narcissist of all time
We believed himself to be the son of God. It's like David Koresh not being a Branch Dividian

This question contains either a profound misunderstanding of Christian theology or an insidious attempt to undermine it.

Jesus is not dead, that is the meaning of His resurrection. Religion by definition is an institution that seeks to mediate the relationship between the sacred and the profane, Christ is not a member of any religion since he is a constitutive part of the Holy trinity and requires no mediation with God.

it doesn't matter. jesus's understanding (of god) transcends the teachings of any religion or denomination. he was raised as a jew but went off on his own.

that said, if the savior returned today he'd probably be a low-income american catholic or protestant with little affiliation to organized religious tradition and a family history of "mental illness"
