This day in history, 11th of March: 1702 – The Daily Courant, England's first national daily newspaper is published for the first time. 1861 – American Civil War: The Constitution of the Confederate States of America is adopted. 1941 – World War II: United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt signs the Lend-Lease Act into law, allowing American-built war supplies to be shipped to the Allies on loan. 1946 – Rudolf Höss, the first commandant of Auschwitz concentration camp, is captured by British troops.
So I'm a scrub playing HOI4 for the first time, and I'm trying to figure out some of the mechanics, especially regarding civil wars. Is it possible for a 3rd party to ever take clay as a result of a civil war? Like, what if country A splits into communist and fascist halves, and I declare war against the communist half while staying unaligned to the fascist half. If I beat the communist half, am I able to keep any/all of it, or will the entire country always default to the other half of the civil war, no matter what?
Asking because I kinda want to do something along the lines of playing as fascist mongolia and causing a civil war in the USSR and then taking over central asia

I know, it's not representative of how the game should be played at all, with both DLCs. Wasn't commenting on that cause both draw out the shitposters

germany and france are literally the only fun countries

you're welcome

I hope you meant this unironically because this is true in every game
So you're purposefully handicapping yourself just because of autism? It'd also be believable and historical to just play as Switzerland and do nothing at all, but where's the fun in that.
Not necessarily. For example if as Germany i take a 100% polish territory, i am subjecting myself to crisis possibility, guaranteed rebellions, unreliable brigades that might rebel, etc. Also the war to take that territory from Russia might get more German soldiers killed than the population gained from that conquest. Not to mention that the years wasted at that war are years of not expanding industry or lowering tarrifs/taxes. Thus by not blobbing you are not necessarily losing strength.

How do I Czechoslovakia in HoI3?

Literally a worse version of DH's vanilla decisions... as a PAID dlc feature.
Do you mind telling me how you beat the Ottomans consistently?

>been saving up eunuchs to send to the chinese emperor >they're all dying off while he's isolationist >i've gone through three rulers and the emperor still hasn't changed how long do these fucks live for
Force converted all my slavic and germanic prisoners as I accepted the one true faith as Grand Chief of Saxony. Why the fuck do they like the pope more than me? Shouldn´t they hate their new religious head as much as me the guy they lost wars and rebellions against?

Take advantage of the turks being at war with Venice, Mamluks, whatever middle eastern nations, etc. etc. Ally Hungary, Austria, PLC, etc. etc. There u go I don't remember the early progression but I posted lots of shots as I played
It probably isn't that big a deal now but for me it is: In EU4 for the first time ever I was able to form Germany after so many times I never could. I used Saxony.
See because they declared on me and this is what they were fighting and they still managed to wipe the floor with us so I don't get how getting allies is meant to be good
Don't know but there is nothing comfier than force converting the leaders of rebellions after you defeat them. You do your duty as a worshipper to guide them to the right path, be it Christ or Allah, even if they hate your guts. It's especially satisfying when they led a religious rebellion.
You fucked up by not smothering them in the crib. I'm thinking for Mamluks, a good start would be no-cb byzantium so that you delay the turks from starting their golden age and have a base to distract them while you siege down eastern anatolia, then waiting for them to be at war with venice (e.g. if venice guarantees albania) or at least them attacking serbia/bosnia so that, again, their armies are distracted for a little while
Yes. We asked geejunk for links too but he never gave any. Hope this guy will link us at least to the dual maps minimod.

nvm I just made it even better. Savoy should remain with France and I fixed the shape of Serbia I have the French and Italian cantons to their rightful owners and left the german part there because I don't want to give land to them. I don't know what's going on in Instanbul, I just stole the map like that.
russia doesn't have a good fascist flag, one is just the imperial tricolor with an ebin swastika on it and the other is a dark & edgy orthodox cross. also pls put the crest back on the romanian monarchist flag and maybe on the austrian one too..
Josiah Fisher
Interesting, I don't know what to tell you than. I'm using HFM 1.27E, and is my window

*You mean like this?

Is it a bad idea to be training my armies from the get-go? Is the loss of supplies too much for the gain in experience?
>russia doesn't have a good fascist flag, one is just the imperial tricolor with an ebin swastika on it and the other is a dark & edgy orthodox cross What about the other one, with the saltire? No good? >pls put the crest back on the romanian monarchist flag That's already in as the alternative, isn't it? >and maybe on the austrian one too What do you mean? That never had a CoA.
Christian Adams
Almost, I´d like the eagle to be in the middle and France at the edges if that is possible?
