Honestly if you were making a new character then there's no reason why you wouldn't want to dupe attack gems (they allow the most flexibility in clownsuiting). It would take you a little under a day to rush through story and get your free Attack gem. I'm almost positive you can rush a character to end game in under 12 hours this monster hunter.
