Speaking of that, Disengage also feels weird as hell in Siegfried. I mean it's great if you couple it's effects with AoF but there's not lore reason for that, no version of his story has his fight with Fafnir as a long drawn out battle where he had to retreat and then go back to fighting

I'm not talking about the Rhinegold I'm wondering about the ring. At least in Wagner's story, it also had the soul of a dwarven blacksmith in it that made it basically into Sauron's Ring. Apparently it was a metaphor for industrialism/capitalism since Wagner of course tossed his personal philosophy into his magnum opus.
