Every persona game has flaws but all the other persona games have something that's worth playing for, that will pull you to the end even if you don't enjoy other aspects of the game, persona 1 doesn't really have anything like that.

I enjoyed the process of fighting through the long dungeons. So to me, excessive fights wasn't a flaw. It sounds like you expected the game to be something it wasn't.
