Sigh... despite the fact that theres a muscle woman, an androgynous woman, an old woman, a petite slender ottermode girl, a short chubby woman, people wont be satisfied. There's only so many ways to design a female body to show the character is female.
And it's not even about a character looking sexual attractive. Whether the character is fat, ugly, short, tall, etc, all women have specific bone structures to show that they're female.
What do they want, a female version of Roadhog? I don't mind that, but you have to find a way to tell the audience that this is a female character.
While constantly giving female characters hourglass shapes, or wide hips on a female character is probably lazy character design, it gives a good silhouette and is an easy indicator to the audience that they are looking at a female character. The male equivalent is the superman inverted triangle shape, aka wide broad shoulders, narrow hips.

While female characters have plenty of different '' gender expression '' they are still mostly cookie cutter generally attractive ladies, and none of them come off as ridiculous joke characters either.
