Used to have canonical crush on her and the lore even implies that they used to be close friends who were affiliated in the same gang and whatnot. Plus there's always the possibility of him discovering why she went insane in the first place, feeling guilty from her circumstances and then trying to help her in some way to make up for it. It also helps that both of them hate pilties with a passion to the point where they're willing to commit crimes on them as a form of payback.

It's as bad as Jinx/Ziggs, which demonstrates just how shitty Riot's nu-writers are, because character duos with similar personalities/motives/interests/mannerisms eventually become boring to read or watch. There's very little room conflict or character development/buildup for such relationships like that.
