Yes. They care about players who aren't capped, and the game offers me a lot. I enjoy leveling all the jobs. I enjoy crafting, I enjoy gathering. The game is very beautiful and the story is at least somewhat consistent. The characters are far more likable. And I don't have to rely on all the fucking RNG as my endgame content. Plus the raids and EX primals are way more interesting than what WoW has.

Also it's really easy to fuck up Classic, they just have to decide to tweak with what the game was. Class balance changes, releasing on 1.12, trying to make hybrids more viable DPS/tanks, shit like that.

The raids in WoW are all the same. And with how the combat works, it's literally just spamming buttons and waiting for the lights to pop up. I used to hate XIV's combat, but after leveling a number to cap I realized it's far more methodical.

I liked the leveling changes, it helps new players out. But other than making it take a bit longer and letting them finish zones, it's not radically different.

what the fuck are you on about? xiv's combat is not only a carbon copy of wow's but it's way less dynamic than wow's, especially with the server tick still in place.

XIV's combat has combo systems, WoW doesn't. They're both very similar for sure but XIV still goes with actual rotations whereas WoW is priority systems and procs out the ass.

WoW also doesn't have positionals for the most part.

combo systems make the entire system braindead. they light up just like you mentioned wow's do ffs. positionals are not fun, impede encounter design (see all the times they have to make positionals not even matter) and there's a reason people love skills that take them away/when they're removed. also wow does have combo systems, they're just not 'light up after you hit one skill'.

I got the weapon upgraded that I needed because I was slow and I'm likely not touching it again.
I am sorta interested in the story, but not enough to grind another 8 levels to see the next tiny part.

The devs are creatively bankrupt. Even ESO is better than this atm.

I disagree, you have to know what combo to use. XIV's combat isn't hard, but WoW's isn't either.

xiv's combat sucks and the fact that the server ticks so infrequently is super retarded and definitely impacts the complexity of encounters and rotations. high level xiv fcs have always bitched about problems with buffs/debuffs in the hardest content due to the infrequent tick. it's just about acceptable for casual content.

That's honestly the crux of the entire problem with the game. You can't even have AOEs that take reaction time to quickly dodge because of how the server sees movement. Everything always has to be planned ahead. It's awful.

Show me in XIV where you have unique encounters like Maiden of Vigilance, High Command, Eonar, etc. You don't have any variety. Every boss is Argus with their bombastic threee stage transition when he is arguably the easiest boss and most poorly designed boss in the tier. Where is the method? It's fixed nonsense and the best fights play out guaranteedly the same every time. While the same is true for a lot of Warcraft bosses you have more than twice as many to play with every tier and they come faster than Final Fantasy can squeeze out ""raid"" patches. The raid design doesn't punish mistakes as harshly but allows them to happen, where in XIV if multiple party members die you are probably going to wipe with no hope of recovering.

XIV raiding is a fucking joke. Every tier you have one good boss which is usually the final one (that they put all their "effort" into) or a primal once in a blue moon (Titan, Thordan). Warcraft isn't a bastion of creativity but it's head and shoulders above this junk heap.

I have Yoshida too much credit in thinking that something that was this delayed and overhyped would be good content.

With the new textools you can convert all your mods to a modpack before patch so you can reenable it with 2 buttons after, its very convenient
