I'm supremely lost in Next Order after booting it up after a year. The digimail doesn't do a good job of telling me what I need to do, so I don't even. Should I just wander around or something? I think I'm on day 16 or so waiting for my megas to die and I was in the gym so I think I was statblocked.

Am I doing something wrong in Next Order? My stats are 1~3k on both my digidangs and I'm still getting slaughtered at every step. I have no idea what the game wants of me.
56, Chapter 3, yes. I feel like I gotta grind but I feel like if I do so at this point I'm not going to have much life left. My partners are getting up there in age, and I dunno.
I still have 2 egg perks to get, but I maxed out trainer perks, and I have one of the evolution perks. My levels have been almost completely stat-focused, other than getting move learning stuff, and some recovery stuff. I'm doing pretty okay but it's not the most optimal build.
You just wasted point in the gym, let one of your partners die sooner and start training in battles, you gain much more that way

What battles are even worth it? I haven't seen any give any stats worth thinking about. If that's true, I'm not fighting in the right areas.

The Psychemon/Garurumon Blk in the desert where you defeated the last machindramon in chapter one are a good start once you get your next rookies (baby mons dont gain much in battles), you should get 1000 stats in everything before they become champions, then go to mob cave #1 and defeat saberdramon until they become adults and stop gaining enough stats, then defeat the Waruseadramon right there or the WereGarurumon black in bony resort who also gives lots of money so you can eat in the restaurant for even more stats Stats gain are maxed at 20-26 based in tamer-skills and game difficulty, digimons only gain significant amount agaisnt digimons of a higher/equal evolution stage, that waaay more than the gym than only give you around 50 in one stat and 30 in other after one hour, every battle will give you 20 in everything but HP/MP (use the gym for them) and dont consume ingame time, so you save irl and ingame time

I just beat a boss and the stats I got from it were pretty small.
Oh they're capped at 26? Well I guess that explains a lot. Still, I'm not sure where these areas are. I haven't played it in about a year.
For the first area ask Birdramon to take you to Ohguino Wastelands and then just go to the exit next to you there should be two Garurumon Blk right there, the other area is MOD Cape hinterland Try to kill one of your partners earlier that the other, is kinda hard to train for new people with two rookie digimons
Oh and im also replaying N0 right now, the two are 2 generation mons and already got more MP than your Vikemon and almost the same speed thank to battles
If I want to DNA Digivolve Paildramon, doesn't that have some issues? I was thinking about getting him next.

Its fine, but you should be really carefull with their ages so the older dont become ultimate before the other become a champion, or at least block the evo paths with GrapLeomon i think you cant block them all, but you can try to not get the requirments for the one you dont block
Saberdramon IIRC are on the ship where Vikemon's cabin is. So the north exit from the lagoon area.

Yes, the garurumon blk there should let you around 1200, use the tent to rest and go back to the city for the restaurant If the saberdramon dont work go for waruseadramon but he is kinda strong, the regular seadramons also give good stats

Also, is there something like damage modifiers based on tiers? Veemon is close in strength to Vikemon and is using a similarly powered attack, but it seems way weaker.

Seraphimon cooks the best food. Notably, he has a dish that gives +500 HP and MP and +50 to all stats, and he has a dish that extends lifespan.
And yes, evolution level plays into damage calc.

Seraphimon can be recruited by first talking to Ikkakumon in Absolute Zero. I don't know if you can reach there plot wise yet, but the upgraded Sender can bring you there on Tuesdays IIRC, allowing a mini "sequence" break.

Savers went a bit too far with punching digimon in the face to the point where it was just routine. Xros Wars S1... Well to be honest, I don't see all too much wrong with it other than that the main character is too strong/smart/good at what he does. It still never stopped being fun and it also had Cameltoemon. Xros Wars S2 though? Whoa BOY just fuck everything up. It also has Obama in it for some fucking reason. Tri? SIX MONTHS BETWEEN EPISODES Appmon? Haven't seen it.

I just found out I did something stupid. I got the Okuwamon evolution item, and should it to the MegaKabuterimon that was nearby. He mentioned that finding it was a start, and then nothing else, really. I then gave it to Antlyamon to check that evolution system SCAM, which I regretted fucking with. Did I fuck that quest over or will Okuwamon's evo item respawn?
