If you want a steady supply of sharps/hards you're going to end up gathering eventually, might as well get started on it now while your gear is still garbage.

This game is RNG but if you go over the failstack limit you're shooting yourself in the foot. I had the exact same issue when I was trying to +12 a kutums at 15 stacks and it just didn't happen, even after getting to 31 stacks.so I just went for TRI on my awakened and got lucky

Okay user, I regularly get a sharp/hard every ~50 energy and it takes less than an hour to expend all of it. So unless you're getting 3-6 earrings an hour then my methods are better.

Keep grinding until you realize how much of a waste of time this game is then quit only to return because there's nothing on the market that equals the combat only to then remember how vapid the pve is and laggy the pvp is then quit again just to once again reinstall to acquire welfare money and login rewards until you realize there's so much more to life once you stop masturbating and go outside resulting in you leaving your room and making a life for yourself.
I think the lore has them as being older, but almost everyone makes their Tamer look young.
