What does Veeky Forums think of Napoleon Bonaparte?

Bumping for attention

manlet

Veeky Forums spouts a lot of propaganda about him either ironically or unironically. Don't expect much from this place.

learning about the French revolution I feel that France would be erased from existence if not for that guy

An enlightened authoritarian who saved France by destroying the Republic, brought it the absolute height of its power, then lost it all again. He is the man the ushered in a new age of military, judicial, and political thought that cannot be overstated. But he is also a man who above all else espouses the dangers of ambition and how it can destroy what it seeks to achieve. The 19th century, and with it the modern era, as we know it would not exist without Napoleon.

#3 on the list of people you are supposed to hate according to hardcore fascism/capitalism

another napoleon thread? is it napoleon's week or something?

he almost saved Europe from the anglo

are you retarded

He honestly did nothing wrong but lose.

He's a medieval warlord brought up in the Ancient Regime, embraced the Revolutionary ideals, and practically defined a series of wars and an epoch. It took a coalition of European powers to defeat him (contrary to what Anglo historians like to posh about).

Though his expedition to Saint Dominique (Haiti) and his failure in Egypt/Syria is surprisingly overlooked in modern depictions.

I don't get why "eternal anglo" and "perfidious albion" is used as a pejorative tee bee aitch.

the ultimate manlet and cuck rage birthed one of the greatest men of all time

a Hero

>Though his expedition to Saint Dominique (Haiti) and his failure in Egypt/Syria is surprisingly overlooked in modern depictions.

Mostly because he never went to Haiti himself and the Syrian campaign failed because of lack of projection despite impressive victories against much more numerous turks

People like to look at campaigns really reflective of his skills (aka the European ones that didnt have the shittiness of the French navy fuck up everything) better

Most based lad ever tbqh

>54,000 civilians killed
HE DINDDU NUFFIN'!!

31,000 of them werent civilians and anyway most of them died of starvation while the French besieged the city, because they were too stubborn to surrender and embrace revolutionary enlightment

>attack soldiers
>get killed
MUH 19TH CENTURY HITLER

A glorious enlightened despot who won a series of glorious victories and provides a wonderful narrative to any fan of history, while also tearing down a republican government to replace it with a monarchy and failing to solidify his gains. If only there had been an Augustus to his Caeser.

SERIOUS question, what would have happened if he crushed Russia's army before winter?

glorious european golden age, no WW1 or 2

It took more than a coalition, it took seven coalitions and almost all of his army dead of frost

>tfw Napoleon will never take Akko

Only reasons Hapsburgs, English, and Prussia didn't destory France when it was at their mercy (Hapsburg kept getting historically fucked by them and England always wanted to conquer them) was pretty much because "we don't want another Napoleon"

scared them so much he saved France.

Hail Metternich
gaul genocide best day of my life

I didn't like that he made himself a dictator but I have to agree that he was a military genius for the most part

He's a fucking frog

if only

He arguably was the Augustus in this situation, the French Revolution sacrificed like fifty almost-Caesars.

Top tier general, shit tier diplomat.

It says a lot about your diplomacy skills when all of Europe hates you more than the British and teams up with them to send you to back to Naughty Boy Island before having a big party in London.

propaganda

a neckbeard who punished staceys and chads for humiliating him as a young man

>It says a lot about your diplomacy skills when all of Europe hates you more than the British and teams up with them to send you to back to Naughty Boy Island before having a big party in London.

All it says is that he was a commoner became emperor and european nobles hated that fact

In war you kill your enemies, get over it cucky.

But if you kill your enemies, they win.

Wow just wow.. in 2016 wisdom like this.. really makes you think.

Based on this image you don't seem to like anyone.

>implying France's salvation was not in fact due to Talleyrand's brilliant maneuvering at the Congress of Vienna
