Was Atilla the Hun Asian?

Was Atilla the Hun Asian?

Yes. The Huns were from the northern borders of China. They were central Asian.

Central Asian, potentially from an off shoot mongol tribe that headed west.

Yes, he was finnish

...

Really? I thought the Huns were from the Caucasus or between the Caucasus and the Ural mountains. I thought they'd be more like Afghans.

He was Eurasian.

He was Afro-Eurasian.

"The Huns were a nomadic people who lived in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia between the 1st century AD and the 7th century AD. As per European tradition, they were first reported living east of the Volga River, in an area that was part of Scythia at the time, the Huns were said to be living near the Caspian Sea and by about 150 had migrated southeast into the Caucasus.] By 370, the Huns had established a vast, if short-lived, dominion in Europe."

He was black.

The Huns were a people described in the following manner: “…the terror of their looks inspire in their enemies with no little horror by their awful aspect and by their horribly swarthy appearance. They have a sort of shapeless lump, if I may say so, not a face, and pinholes rather than eyes.”(5) A race of men who were short and bow-legged, riding their fast steppe ponies and living on their steeds terrorized Europe. They practically lived and slept on horseback, they ate half-raw meat, which was kept beneath their saddles, and shot their arrows with frightening accuracy

they grow up without beards, plump necks, and bow-legged
Ammianus Marcellinus (c. 390), Roman History, Book XXXI

>Short of stature, with a broad chest and a large head; his eyes were small, his beard thin and sprinkled with grey; and he had a flat nose and tanned skin, showing evidence of his origin

>swarthy
>tanned skin

hol up

>"he had a freckle on his ass"
>WE

You ever see a Mongolian? They're swarthy as fuck

looks like an ethiopian to me

They are truly Eurasian. Further west you go they look more Aryan and further East you go they look more Sinetic.

That's a Finn you posted here, mate.

They were basically remnants of Xiongnu empire which the Chinese destroyed.

Hmmm

"[...] Short of stature, with a broad chest and a large head; his eyes were small, his beard thin and sprinkled with grey; and he had a flat nose and tanned skin, showing evidence of his origin."

description of Atilla by Priscus, cited by Jordanes

If his definición doesn't fit in mongoloid features, then I don't know what he is.

Also, I've read that altough Attila was east asian, the Huns were caucasian, meaning its ruling class came from the far east

Looks like some kind of ravenous, marauding Slav to me.

he was frankish

Kek

They were probably a mix just look at Modern day Steppe people in Southern Russia sept darker because they live outside.

he looks slavic

>Also, I've read that altough Attila was east asian, the Huns were caucasian, meaning its ruling class came from the far east
can make a certain sense

they come from the east, commoners mix with the scythians or whatever who didn't migrate away in time, rulers marry some hunnic rulers daughter from back east

We knew Atilla's people, The Huns were Eurasian. They either came from the Ural Mountains or from Central Asia. Central Asia during that time was ruled by the Sythcians.
Another theory is that the Huns are germanic but its not really feastable. In my opinion I belive he was of Uralic like the Finns, Estonians and HUNgarian

>China breaks up Xiongnu confederacy
>they migrate west since the Chinese are doing a purge
>along the way the Remnants of Xiongnu marry/take local girls and have children
>They grow up into the tribe
>Tribe becomes big again with no threat from China (far enough)
>Tribe terrorizes west (can't east, cause memory still haunts)
