Remember that Switch players can play with 3ds and vise versa, so don't hesitate to play with /mhg/ if you feel like it.
Slugger is tremendously useful. FF2 and power charge will protect you from a bunch of attack, since power charge works like FF1 while charging. Focus is somewhat of a mixed bag, but it's useful. Other than that, hit it in the head till it dies.

If you are using two pieces of blos negra set you will get bludgeoner which I think includes some, if not all levels of slugger. It's nice to have on hammer but not vital if you are replacing it with other stuff like attack or affinity skills
