I really fucking wish Type-Moon would make an actual Fate VN again instead of the psuedo-VNs they end up doing like FGO, Extra, and Extella. in all of those, the gameplay holds the titles back. One's a mobile gatcha game, the other's rock-paper-scissors, and the last is musou. If they wanted to do something interesting gameplay-wise they should make it a sort of duo-system CRPG with a focus on 1v1 Servant fights or something, but otherwise, eh.
I know they don't because these titles make money by virtue of having gameplay or having abysmal gatcha rates instead of belonging to the relatively niche visual novel side of things. Still a shame.
I'd like to see more stuff set in the Extra world. I don't care about nameable protagonists or anything, but Shirou's story arc has been over for a while and that's fine. If you wanted to have a nameable protagonist, just do what Extra / Extella did and have all the Servants you command call you something different. Praetor / Goshujin-sama / Prisoner / usual epithet of Master.
Hey does anybody know any VNs with superb but niche art? And by that I mean an imouto route that doesn't devolve into an h-scene within an hour, and literal five minutes of "but we're brother and sister we shouldn't do this" then facesucking as hard as a dyson shortly thereafter. Nukiges need not apply.
