The one that fits your needs and room size the best.
HTC Vive if you have moneybags and want the best of the best. Oculus Rift if you want just about Vive-like performance as far as I've heard from people who idort them but at a fraction of the cost. Windows MR if you're scraping the bottom of the barrel.
I honestly prefer the Rift due to my experience with it over the other headsets, and controllers.

Vive has better tracking. Better accessories. Steam > Facebook. Vive tracks on a larger scale. Vive's colors are more vivid. Camera on front. DAS makes it more comfy than other headsets (imho).

It may be more comfortable to start out with talking one on one with someone instead of trying to squeeze out words while in a group where someone's usually dominating the conversation. oculus has better controllers (touch) and the most crisp display of all 3. for more than $100 less money you can also get roomscale by buying an extra sensor to put behind you.

But crisp display doesn't makeup for the tighter fov, muddy colors, and lacking tracking.
Also the controllers are subjective. I've used oculus rift controllers, they feel terrible in comparison to vive's and mixed reality

I don't know how that is possible when mine tracks perfectly unless I occlude it from all three sensors which with not possible to do without conscious effort.
Vrchat is pushing vr more into the mainstream than anything else ever has, which is why htc is throwing money at it.

oddly enough the only 2 games I have an issue with running is VRChat and Onward
everything else is like 90fps
I play on low graphics,0.6 sampling, and one resolution below 720p
I only need to enable safe mode if the room size is out of control, other than that its about a solid 60fps

You don't need lower super sampling, it's your CPU and/or ram bottle necking you and lowering your super sampling doesn't do shit
T. R9 270 user who recently upgraded CPU and run at 1.0 super sampling just fine, your GFX card is also better than mine.

I'm an idiot. Whenever I join the meetups and I only get like 15-20 FPS I have to leave immediately instead of just turning down my super-sampling or starting VR in low graphics mode. I keep forgetting about that.
