Before Episode 5's release: >Lol Mari's theories're shitty. It's way more than shitty to become true >Chloe has to die thing doesn't make sense.Don't worry they will come with unpredictable story >We're gonna learn everything about Max's powers,Rachel and Prescotts even Nathan, spirit animals.. >Jefferson knows about Max's powers >Nathan,Frank,David or Samuel's gonna save us >Victoria's with Max,she'll save her >(After seeing Cemetery scene from leaks) I'm sure it'll be Williams,Rachel's or Kate's grave. >Rachel's the doe and Butterfly and probably we'll see her in Max's dream >Blue Jay's Chloe
After Episode 5's release: >Mari's shitty cliche theory became right >We visited the SF art gallery for 3 seconds. FOR 3 DAMN SECONDS >Jefferson became a silly bad guy from Disney >David came to save us.He's a former-soldier but he can't even fight, just listens teenager's orders. Even he doesn't know she has some time travel powers. >Victoria's with us in the dark room.Laying there and we can talk her or not.Just it. >Nathan get killed,Victoria too >Nathan knew something about the storm but they cut it. >Warren explained Max's powers(!)(thanks warryn) We found out her power causes/related with Chaos Theory and storm. It's not like we didn't know or something. >Storm is only coming for Bay because Chloe lives in there but Max's the one who keep changes the time >Prescotts story erased.Nobody even mention their name. >Rachel's story fucked too.She isn't or butterfly, bluejay just spiritualdoe >Spirit animals thing died.Blue Butterfly's storm summoner just it. >Chloe dies again in one of endings (unpredictable) It gives you a lesson: You shouldn't have used your power. And you shouldn't play this game. Now erase your choices and cry like a bitch. >The other ending's short but it's less cliché than other. We saved Chloe, storm's hit the town and gone. That's it >So, once again we got the fact that our ending always will be BAE>Bay
Before BtS Episode 3's release: >Devs: ''Intense episode is waiting for us.Be ready for it;);) There is a reason why we chose Tempest as major theme and you will find out;)'' >Don't worry, Deck9 won't disappoint us. They are better than Dontnod >I love you Zak. Thank god, finally a developer who understands us!! What did we do to deserve him guyssss >CLOUD 9!!! TELL ME WHATCHU REALLY LIKE... BE READY FOR MULTIPLE KISSESSS!! CLOUD 9 WOHOOOO >Sera is a witch. Ending is going to be awesome >We will see how Damon got killed >We will get our revenge from Skeevy guys too >We will see Skip's concert too. Rachel and Chloe will go there yeeeyy >All plot holes Dontnod left will all be answered. >Beanie Queen Steph will get hug and also we will have advice scene ;);) >They will not touch 3 years. They will keep their promises:) Unlimited happy endings are coming. 6 variations depending our choices with RACHEL HYPE CLOUD9
After BtS Episode 3's release: >Deck9's worse than Dontnod >Devs were bullshitting all along: Tempest? They forgot it. Poor Shakespeare is rolling in his grave right now >Zak went full retard >Nothing was cut:) >Girls went full nun-mode and was giving each other cheek kiss and 0.1 sec cuddle scene in bed -even with cloud 9 intimacy >Choices didn't matter >Pedo Frank >Frank pushes Damon out of screen. God knows how is he fucking dead >Rachel spent almost the whole episode in that hospital bed >Chloe was unconscious at the very intense moment >Sera magically untied herself >End choice didn't solve anything >William went full Fast and Furious flashbacks. >Even if Sera and Rachel reunite, Sera gtfos that town in one way or another >They added credits scene out of nowhere - Rachel's ded - Chloe's still suffering. Technically, they were bullshitting about not touching 3 years either
>It's hard not to like taylor swift idk, it doesn't take any effort on my part to dislike her Cause that's what they like to do. Flanderize and caricaturize characters for their "quirks", a la >OH ISN'T IT CUTE IF CHLOE LIKES TS >OH, ISN;T IT CUTE IF CHLOE SECRETLY WEARS DRESSES AND SKIRTS and so on and so forth
Evan Cox
>"Where do you think you're going?" >"...breakfast?..." >"Hipster and Punk Trash always hug in the morning. Vomit inducing, but I think i Could try." >"I... I like the idea, but maybe you could be a little..." >"What?" >"Nothing!" *silently pray to God you'll survive Victoria's affection*
As Max and Chloe are leaving the ruins of Arcadia Bay behind, there's one more tragic story unfolding >Alice and Lisa stuck in Max's room, Alice hasn't eaten anything in days, the dorms are destroyed and no one comes looking for them >"No one's gonna come save us, this is the end, we'll starve to death..." >Alice...you can survive this and go back to your owner. All you have to do is... all you have to do is eat me." >"What? No, fuck that. Lisa, you're my number one priority, I'm not eating you!" >"Alice, think about it... how many times this week did you try to nibble my leafs? I'm a plant, Alice, you're a bunny, maybe it's time I accept my destiny... OUR destiny." >"Lisa, I can't make this choice!" >"No Alice, you're the only one who can"
Just started. What the fuck is Chloe's problems with Emojis?
Julian King
Alice got to drink a little bit of squeezed blueberry juice.

So did Max!
Made me think of a scenario with Kate/Vic >Vic takes Kate to a St. Patrick's Day party >Some snob tries to talk down to Kate because she doesn't want to drink >Victoria tears him a new one.
This is a good read. thanks for the link user. I'm only halfway through it, but the only thing i've found I disagreed on was Nathan doing Rachel on his own, that was probably a joint project with Jefferson. but that's just a minor detail in her argument so whatev
Eh, not much of that was accurate. Chloe still blames people around her in BtS, she's just not quite as angry or loud about it. Which makes sense because S1 is her years later when she's put up with even more.
Owen Reyes
I can see the OP's point. But I don't exactly agree with it. I especially don't understand what he/she is trying to imply with Nathan by calling him like a pup and criticizing how he wasn't portrayed negatively. What should Nathan have done in BtS to balance him out as a "morally grey person" ? Murder Samantha? Rape Chloe? The game has 3 episodes, and it tries it's best to focus on it's primary goal while developing the background characters. Permanently damaging someone's rib cars is quite enough really. I also think the David and Frank situation depends more on experience, interpretation and assumption. The Chloe argument is just some typical tumblrinia essay bullshit. In the simplest way I can explain, imo the original game really fails to explain Chloes actions other than the few "her dad died and best friend left her" here and there. Compare that to her generally unnecessarily rude and disrespectful behaviour, it's not entirely justifiable. What BtS simply does is change the perspective. You play as Chloe, you understand how she works. What makes her happy, wht makes her sad. You see everything through her eyes. What William meant to her, what Max means to her, what Rachel meant to her. It gets up close and personal to many players. That's at least why I loved her in BtS compared to LiS. That has a lot more to do with why people like her, than the anger oppressed drama.
Anthony Martin
I seriously hope you don't believe this tumblrinia rant/article/essay trash and actually try playing the game.
Austin Cook
I agree 100%. I liked Chloe in S1 but it took a while for me to warm up to her because they fail to really justify why she's the way she is (which would be fine if she wasn't simultaneously so important out of the gate). BtS might take the obvious route in explaining her but I can enjoy and understand the obvious route.
Anthony Jenkins
>The Chloe argument is just some typical tumblrinia essay bullshit ??? >You play as Chloe, you understand how she works. What makes her happy, wht makes her sad. You see everything through her eyes. It goes beyond that. BtS Chloe can simply do no wrong. When she does, not only she suffers zero consequences for it, but the game shoves in your face what great person she is. Everybody (literally everybody) in the game loves her. Even people who canonically shouldn't, like Vic or Frank. Look at how they handled Max and Chloe falling off with each other. The fault was completely dumped on Max's shoulders. Chloe tried to very end to keep contact but mean, evil Maxine wasn't having it.
Thomas Long
I always felt that BtS Chloe was just wrong somehow. This sort of explains it. Chloe was never a heroic figure up until the very end (although Max was the motivation for that final sacrifice, and it was born out of the protective instinct she has for her), but BtS makes her out to be one
Jaxon Cruz
I never once got the feeling that BtS was trying to make her "heroic".
Angel Edwards
But I think the point is that when she *does* blame someone in BtS, they're obviously at fault and Chloe is obviously in the right - as she is in every situation. This post is basically correct.
Samuel Carter
Not really. She blames the school when she's the one failing. She blames her mom when she's just trying to fix her family. I would consider the David situation more of a tie with equal blame on both.
Aiden Moore
What's your point? Chloe should've done something completely unreasonable and unnecessarily bad/wrong (like she did in LiS) just for the sake of becoming morally grey and also risk logic, character progression and likability? First Rachel was called a mary sue, now Chloe. Brilliant.
Samuel Morales
It's literally brought up in that post >the biggest example of this, though, is how she’s treated by other characters. even when chloe does shit that’s objectively fucked up, she’s narratively forbidden from suffering the consequences. when chloe breaks into drew’s room to steal his money (which she’s of course browbeaten into by frank, and not something she’d do of her own accord), leading to her direct involvement in either drew’s leg or mikey’s arm being broken, neither sibling resents her for it in the least. they both reassure her that she did the right thing, and mikey messages her from the hospital, for some reason, to tell her she’s 'stronger than anything’. when chloe calls over frank to meet with her and rachel (which is of course something she only does with rachel’s best intention at heart, because rachel begged her to), leading to rachel being stabbed half to death, neither one of rachel’s parents holds it against her. never mind that james is characterized as so insanely protective of rachel that he would straight up murder her innocent mother just to keep her away from her. can you imagine facing the person who got your precious little brother’s arm broken while trying to steal your desperately-needed cash, or who got your daughter nearly murdered by drug dealers after you specifically asked her to keep her safe, and feeling… no anger? none at all? not blaming her for a single part of it?
Sebastian Moore
It's really apparent that BtS's writing pretty much falls apart under any examination honestly
Xavier Evans
Nah, I like it a lot. Better dialogue than S1 by far.
Benjamin Richardson
>Plot makes literally no sense >"b-b-but the dialogue tho!!!"
Daniel Howard
It's honestly laughable.
lol
Eli Anderson
Nah.
Grayson Ramirez
How many of you have actually replayed BtS?
Ryan Cruz
BtS' writing is miles better than S1's. As an example, you have the dialogue which is vastly superior, the dialogue, and the dialogue that's so much better. There's also the fact that the dialogue is better.
Eli Jones
season 1 is fucking shit
Jaxson White
This post has better writing than season 1.
Angel Hughes
Drew actually gets very angry in one ending. He blames Chloe for not only protecting Nathan, but also giving Damon the money intended for his Dad. And sure, James is protective of Rachel. But he also trusts Chloe and knows that she wants the best for his daughter and would never htm her. He literally tells that to her the previous night. It's as not out of character as the post is implying it to be.
Ryder Campbell
Oh trust me. S1 suffers the same disease.
Dylan Campbell
Unironically.
Jacob Brooks
>make a post critical of bts >suddenly a bts babby starts spamming the thread with nonsense about season 1 really gets the noggin joggin

Colton Green
>make a post criticizing a criticism about BtS and juxtaposing the game with the original >suddenly a imaginationland michyl babby starts spamming the thread with nonsense defending the lazy writing of S1 and starts complaining about people trying to point the obvious mistakes out really gets the noggin joggin
Isaiah Sullivan
Where's that post, pray tell?
Mason Edwards
Why does he trust someone he literally met yesterday, when he's willing to off his ex-wife for nothing?
Landon Nguyen
Of course you nitwits derailed an interesting topic with a bunch of 'no u's
Camden Green
Because of the Great Writing™!
Easton Perry
He is trying to off his ex-wife, the mother of his child, not his current wife
Nolan Ross
It wouldn't have taken a lot of time to find it yourself, y'know.
Christopher Martinez
Because, despite his clear dislike of Chloe, he knows that Chloe understands and immensely cares for Rachel. He knows that Rachel means a lot to Chloe and vice versa. At the end of the day, that's what he always wanted. He loved Rachel and he knows that Chloe does too. As simple as that.
Aiden Rivera
The high school dropout his daughter met literally the day before.
Gavin Wright
This. You don't "understand and immensely care for" someone you met 2 days ago.
Ryder Gomez
>What should Nathan have done in BtS to balance him out as a "morally grey person" ? Murder Samantha? Rape Chloe? The game has 3 episodes, and it tries it's best to focus on it's primary goal while developing the background characters. The point is, Nathan is the type of guy to threaten to sue someone's ass if they so much as talk to him wrong. He has 0 reason to take someone shitting on his portfolio lying down. He exercises his power and status
>In the simplest way I can explain, imo the original game really fails to explain Chloes actions other than the few "her dad died and best friend left her" here and there. Compare that to her generally unnecessarily rude and disrespectful behaviour, it's not entirely justifiable. This was the fucking point. From the devs: >It was really important to create this character the best way possible so the player would learn to care more and more about her, but we really wanted her to be not that nice at the beginning, so when she's evolving during the different episodes and she's getting nicer to Max, (The scene of Chloe examining Max's photos is shown.) people would care even more about her, because she has changed and she likes the fact that she's changed. If she were the nicest person from the beginning, it wouldn't be, I don't think, as effective with her going forward and changing towards Max.
Adrian Cruz
Does it really matter? What's the point in fighting with Chloe, if all she wants is Rachel's well being, the same thing as him? He found a common ground and became reasonable. It's explicitly explained by James himself in Ep3.
Juan Cox
His ex-wife seems to immensely cares for Rachel and wants to make amends, and yet he tries to kill her
Because she's the reason why his daughter is stabbed and in the hospital
Andrew Morales
Not that user, but he was probably asking about: >suddenly a imaginationland michyl babby starts spamming the thread with nonsense defending the lazy writing of S1 and starts complaining about people trying to point the obvious mistakes out which I can't find either
>He exercises his power and status He doesn't have to do it all the time. It's not farfetched that a human being is acting vulnerable and emotional.
The point is that Chloe only really changed towards Max. Otherwise she has a generally unfavourable and childish attitude towards everyone and everything, and that sadly can't even be justified much in game.
