I think I've hunted with you or someone similar to your situation, I remember climbing the last vine before the top and someone was foolish enough to be on the middle of the vine and got knocked down by a climbing kirin.
I will never understand how in these videos the monsters are always getting knocked down repeatedly when I can wail on weak points for 3 minutes and get one.

I'm a complete Lance newb but I want to get better. So far I've made the Odoggo Lance but I want to branch out into the elemental ones but idk how to build for each Like for example a thunder lance. What lance would be the best? Kirin? Do I invest anything at all into thunder attack? Rathalos stuff for crit element?

get 3 set teo if using doggo lance. you wont need to sharpen at all for at least 3-4 fights if you know what you're doing. high crit is a must for this. just focus on that for now. get guard 3 charm and build like a normal attack build

solid build. guard 3 only necessary if you dont have the hang of power guarding. i only use it for tempered SoS anyway. you're good to go, you even have augs!

It's easy to play and survive but getting good and consistent damage in is a bit fucky. Bazel's is the best HH right now, Teostra's is good for Vaal Hazak because it prevents/negates all status

It's an optional quest; either 8 or 9 star. I believe it's one of the ones you unlock by fully researching 10 or 15 monsters, although I could be wrong about that.
