I go with A. Gohan on point, Vegeta mid, and 16 anchor. I want to pick up Piccolo because of Hell Zone Grenade mixup shenanigans, which look fun and cheap as hell to do. I want to unlock 21 and SSB Vegeta and try them out because they look fun as fuck to play as.

Its so frustrating to play this game, Playing defense isnt fun and I feel like im playing nothing but defense even when I'm winning. It's just not fun to be on the receiving end when I feel like I have so few options. Theres no worse feeling than sitting at neutral, and playing some kind of twisted guessing game of who is going to press a button, and if you guess wrong once you lose 30-80% of a bar with not a single safe option, you are literally just hoping with every button press they arent pressing the one normal they have that beats it. I feel like I cant get good at this game like I can at Melty blood or SF, Nothing feels safe on defense, there is never a proper response, I am never safe, I can only make huge assumptions, I dont like this game. it sucks to suck

because most human beings use their thumb to do motions like that, which you can't do from the p1 position.

As much as I really do enjoy this game, it really does feel like it favors offense way too much. This game really needed another defensive option. As it stands, it really does suck having to block for a good 20 seconds, when you just KNOW you're going to fuck up and get opened up eventually. Even the best players can't block everything and there's some super cheap bullshit in this game. And when you do get opened up, you know you're most likely going to eat a 40-60% combo into a hard knockdown so you'll have to guess on wakeup again because it's not like this game's combos are that hard to execute. I really think the game could've used a combo breaker tag mechanic like MvCI.

I don't think IAD is THAT hard. I need to practice it a bunch but it's literally just holding up-back/up-forward, then back/forward, right?

you just suck at doing it on the p1 side. do intensive practice to force your brain and hands to do it right. it is what I do everytime I have trouble dashing in a certain direction

Is this actually true? How much time do pros spend grinding shit out? I can't spend more than a half hour grinding out a combo or tech before I get bored

16, because I play big bodies/grapplers in every fighter and DBFZ being a game where that character is Top 3 won't stop me.
Tien, because I like him as a character, he has a lot of options that I can wrap my head around, and he shits out damage and oki with bars.

Broly. The 12 seconds of gameplay we have are all I need to know. Armor, traditional grappler playstyle, armor, shits damage, armor, huge hitboxes, etc. Plus that stomp that's basically A. Gohan's j.2S with a hitbox on it seems REALLY scary considering how wide Broly is.

I'd like to keep 16 & Tien. I'll drop Hit for Broly since he's much more my speed. Maybe I'll end up picking up Cooler too, but he'd need to cover what 16 or Tien bring to the table.

oh and this issue is exclusive to arcade sticks.

hitbox/keyboard/pad don't really have an excuse and it's basically the same thing on both sides for those players, so don't whine if you use any of those.

you can find it in many interviews on the net. one time jwong said that he hates looking at momochi training because momochi will keep doing the same execution have combo for 3 hours while he prefers to to go straight into the throw down

A hitbox is just a $200 keyboard with lots of missing buttons. Unless you go to locals stick with a keyboard.

Why is this a stick problem exactly?

I practice IAD by dashing forward (or backward) then IADing back immediately. Then dash forward again and IAD forward. Repeat until you want to cry. You can't really IAD unless you can do it from another position other than neutral.

it's harder from neutral to me.

I can iad on the right side with just my thumb, no other fingers need to be on the stick,you need to use your entire hand almost to do it on the left side.

It's super difficult to me and I hate being so used to an arcade stick because of it, I can't really go back to a pad after 1000s of hour on stick.

How many characters can do two or more supers in one combo, solo? I know yellow Goku can combo two kamehameha supers into each other, and Cell can do stuff like webm related.

pretty much all characters can characters with assist or sparking like in the webm. cell and nappa, black any many others can do two level 1s in the same combo as well, even without sparking.

how do you hold your stick?

I think Videl has real potential as a character built around not being hit. Give her a counter, a ducking-like technique that can cross up depending on the strength pushed, maybe a Demon Flip-esque move with multiple followups.

See it's the pushing the stick with your hand thing that gets me when I try IAD on p1.

The hard knockdown on M God Slicer must be tied to Smash, since you didn't get a zoom in on the final hit. You likely used it up with your j.2H.

Try it without the j.2H and then again starting from grounded 2H which has different properties in regards to Smash (it lets you get the down smash knockdowns.

If you really want to do a 1-bar knockdown from that combo, just burn a bar on EX God Slicer instead of Vanish.

Mid tier as a motherfucker, but so simple and solid that anybody can learn him and do decently with him. Combine that with the best assist in the game and he's worth playing.

I'm gonna say Upper-Mid. He's got disgusting blockstrings, strong neutral, is full of mindgames, and so on. He simply lacks a good low, but if he had that he might be TOO good you know? Sonic was generally going into muscle memory with him in this tournament, which fell apart against GO1.
>5. Will GO1 ever be stopped?
Eventually, once people start leveling up their defense, figuring out how to fight Gohan (or Gohan gets nerfed), and finding out new tech.

Is anybody? I can only imagine the tech he'll find with Gohan & Hit since he won't drop Hit.

He breaks every single universal combo route in the game, he covers weird angles, his 5M is completely unlike all the others, he needs resources and assists to keep things going. Right now, like Piccolo, you'll only get character specialists. In the future, maybe 2-3 people will main him.

Never mind, I figured it out, the last autocombo L (the j.5H version) was the culprit. It works if I vanish after j.S into 236L.

The combo itself isn't even relevant, I was just testing if M God Slicer works for Vanish conversions period. More likely I'd try it after hitting a random Kamehameha or something.

his meter usage isn't that bad, he has combos that use one meter, but also build one and use an assist

even with a 0 meter start, he can turn a match into 3 combos with a 1 in 4 chance break in between each

it's tough though

It could probably work yes, I uptech all day long so it'd likely work against me once, twice if I'm playing dumb that day.

But once the opponent see's it once you probably shouldn't do it again that often or they'll be able to predict when it's coming.

Also you might be able to kill if you use 236H godslicer, it does slightly more damage iirc.

I actually just tried and it kills if I use Light Grenade level 1 instead of GSD level 1 with Black, then combo into Veggie level 1 and Cell level 3. Don't need the EX God Slicer.

I think the EX Godslicer actually does the same damage anyway, could be wrong though.

You know ive played a lot of tekken and other competitive online games and i dont think ive ever wanted to see more characters nerfed in a single game than i have seen in dragon ball fighterz

Name one traditional fighting game that releases a balance patch after just one month from release.

It's missing some characters

ArcSys isn't Netherrealm; they don't patch shit every single month. I'd expect 2 balance patches a year, which is good. Unless some truly gamebreaking bug is found the game won't die just because Gohan & 16 are kinda busted and Black has too good of a 2H.

Marvel 3 got a patch like Week 2 because people complained about fucking Sentinel. In the grand scheme of things he ended up being on the lower part of Mid-Tier and mostly good for Drones, but Month 1 Marvel 3 was people thinking that Level 3 Sentinel anchors were actually gonna be the meta. I still wonder how things would've been different if Sent kept 1.3 Million life, but then I usually realize that it'd change jack shit outside of certain matches changing a bit because of him not dying from a combo he would at 790k.

Note that this only works because Black's M/H divekick refreshes his air mobility (airdash, double jump) for some reason. I wonder if there's any other cool tech you could do with this.
