At this point I'm on a roof. My mind comes to the conclusion this is the hospitals roof. Monika's next to me, still comatose in her bed. I stop glancing at her and look off into the sky. Night time, cloudy. Not a star, as expected.
I hear the doors far behind me slam open. A flurry of footsteps. "user, stop! Please!"
I roll my neck and turn around. All three of them are there, Sayori in the center. Pleading, angry looks.
"So, you found me. Why'd you think to look here, of all places, hm?"
Sayori speaks up first. "She's still bedridden, and she can't leave the hospital without us knowing." She blinks slowly and takes a deep breath. "Natsuki told us. She suspected that you-"
I shout back at her, making her wince. "Of course I know she told you! D'you think I'm an idiot!?"
Yuri glares at me from the side while Sayori starts to tremble, from sadness or anger, I can't remember."Why, user!? Why did you..."
I shake my head at her. "I don't expect you to understand, and even if you did." I pause. I can't think of why I did it, but I know I can't turn back from it. And I have to finish it. "You wouldn't have the right response, anyway."
At this point it blurs a bit before it gets clearer again. Natsuki called me out and I brushed it off is all I remember in between. I step back, closer to Monika, Making them all glare at me.
"user, what are you doing?"
I fish through my pockets and pull out a sheathed knife. I can't remember what it exactly looked like, but I remember it being sheathed. Natsuki goes pale. Sayori gasps. Yuri stares at me, nervous and angry.
"I'm going to finish what I started, of course. She can stop me, but she won't. And when she's dead, I can become the president. Then you won't need to understand."
I pull the knife out of the sheath slowly, focusing on the sound. I throw the sheath over the railing, off the roof. I know it's edgy now, but dream, okay?
