I want generic, generalized furniture. I dont really like most furniture sets, and I hate the oddball weird stuff. No, I dont want a lamp and a TV that looks like a toadstool.
I dont like the idea of just collecting all the say sleek furniture and having it look like anyone else who wants sleek furniture. Sure im generalizing and you can do a pretty good job of mixing and matching stuff from different sets, but there is some furniture that is just a gimmick and will never ever fit with anything but its set. And its set is stupid.
Just make a giant amount of more generic furniture and let the room designers get creative.

I want HHD level of control of villager's houses. I mean, I already try to do my best to work on them. But there are still things they refuse to get rid of. I used to be able to hex edit things in their homes a couple years ago, but sadly the update crushed my fun.
I'm with user here although personally, I've just gone ahead and done whatever I've wanted with currently available furniture and it worked fine. It doesn't get you the best HHA score materially but who cares if it looks good/interesting?
Other than that I'd really love to see the return of some of the festivals/events from the Gamecube game, return of raffle would be nice and not difficult to do also.
Other things:
> animals get a "can I help?/do you have a job for me?" dialog option like in the original
I hate how by default (in NL), if you're friendly enough with them, the animals will make you do a request for the first time you talk to them each day. Often I just don't want to. Make these separate dialog options again.
> bigger dialog banks and more interactability with your fellow villagers generally > make cranky villagers are assholes again (please I'm begging you) > ability to designate certain areas in your town as house plots (i.e. control where animals place their houses) > room mate system where you can let your fave move in with you and this prevents moveouts for that character
I want all of those extra large furnitures like mountains and teacup rides to be PWPs. More outdoor furniture actually able to be placed outdoors in general.

Fenced in back yards, you walk into the yard and the house disappears and it zooms in, like you walked into a "room". Every villager has one. And the outdoor furniture would suddenly have a use. And the fence can be upgraded alongside your house. And you can change how the fence looks.
