>want to play with mates >no windows 10
Christopher Gonzalez
>my dedicaced boarding and killin' friend wasn't playing yesterday >we decide to play it cool then, maybe we won't jump on every ship on sight >see a galleon anchored near some isle >pass by them while playing music to show them that we're friendly, just want to talk with them or something >they look at us, suddenly one of them aimed a sniper shoot at us short story, they ate 40 cannonball and sunk. What the fuck is wrong with those cunts.
>As of July 30, 2016, the upgrade notifications stopped and the GWX app began disappearing. In theory, that means the only way to get a Windows 10 upgrade is to pay for it.
>The funny thing is, no one told the folks who run Microsoft's activation servers. Which means today, nearly 18 months after the free upgrade offer supposedly ended, you can still upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 and claim a free digital entitlement, without being forced to jump through any hoops.
Juan Phillips
Clear a stronghold with a random, he leaves and is replaced by some stoner fuck that finds a Marauder chest and then drops it on a ledge that can't be reached.
Jonathan Phillips
HOW DO I GET FUCKING $$$$ RICH MY PIRATE LOOKS LIKE A PLEB
does the 10$/a month thing xbox access work with windows 10pc?
friends are gonna get this but really dont want to upgrade to windows 10, but i guess im willing to make a partition
William Butler
Yeah, its what im using to play right now, you play from the xbox app
Levi Cooper
It's called gamepass, dont buy xbox gold by accident
Jace Martinez
IS THIS GAME WORTH THE PRICE
Ryan Cox
No, its worth 14 free days and maybe 10 bucks for an extra month. Revisit in 1 year.
Jeremiah Ortiz
Even worse >not completely furling the sails and raising the anchor again as soon as the ship is docked >not making sure the ship is rotated to an escape heading before leaving it to go adventure >not getting the ship ready to launch at a moment's notice by just hopping on board and releasing the sails
It's like these fagaloos want to get caught after betraying another crew and stealing all the loot. That galleon anchor takes a fucking year to reel in.
Absolutely not. It's barely worth the install time. >pick up map >go to island >find treasure >drop treasure at npc >pick up map >go to island etc etc etc for a few dozen hours. Maybe you fight a ship or two.
Playing randoms is so unbearably awful most of the time. Usually some kid, stoner fuck or daft cunt without a mic that just stand on deck doing jack all. They usually get bored and try to grief their own crew, I don't understand these neanderthals.
Brandon Murphy
If you are gonna play with randoms be ready to requeue till you find an acceptable crew.
Juan Parker
I do, I'm simply staggered by these vaping nu males that stand around complaining about how boring the game is while the rest of the crew is off having a laugh and treasure hunting.
Caleb Butler
>tfw shipwrecks have more loot than the islands you solve riddles at
Level 15 currently, does it get better? I havent dug out a single captains or special chest yet, but I've found several randomly or in shipwrecks. Quite often I get a voyage with 3 maps and all those chests together are worth less than what I find in 1 shipwreck.
Owen Martin
Oh and the quests I get from bottles are most of the time higher level and bettter reward for some reason, just yeserday found a skelly mission on a bottle that was 4 bosses, 3 of them shadow and 1 plant.
Nolan Edwards
>find random chests >full reputation reward for turning them in
>find random skull >full reputation reward for turning them in
>cage some animals and gunpowder >barely any reputation if dont have a voyage asking for it
Leveling merchant is hell
Isaiah Fisher
>join three man group >instantly locked in brig >get paid bounties to shitpost on Veeky Forums while I blast midi pirate music
Lincoln Jackson
I got a quest from reading a book, but when I went back to the book it didnt give me another quest. Is it a 1 time thing?
Jackson Carter
>board enemy ship >run past loot >run past powderkegs >frantically draw a dick on their map >get shot in the back
Nah i mean they fired on us. Or at least one of them did.
Michael Roberts
>Cheat out some merchants voyages by stockpiling animals >Get a competent galleon crew and do 12 missions in a row >Get a competent galleon crew and do a stronghold >Join random crews and troll them until they lock you in the brig and alt tab earning free gold
Adrian Barnes
Seems intended. Weird though.
Oliver Turner
dont you get afk booted?
James Myers
share some of your midi pirate music
Ethan Smith
Loot tends to be better overall on shipwrecks in general, but yes you can get better chests with higher level voyages.
Andrew Sanchez
I've been trying the peaceful approach when playing solo, but there's still some part of me praying they'll shoot first and give me justification to unleash fury upon them If they don't shoot we just play music and have a comfy time
Luke Roberts
The merchants need a rework. You have to turn in the loot at specific outposts for the rewards and it's timed. It's so much worse than the other two where you don't have these restrictions. I just level merchants randomly by finding silk and shit.
Jordan Butler
Yes, just alt tab back every so often and jump.
Kayden Martin
I feel like you should atleast be able to start the voyage whenever and grab the necessary cages from a crate in your ship.
Leo Watson
>jump on a random galleon >act like a regular crew member >they freak out 10 minutes later when they finally see that i'm not one of them and kill me after i helped them with the sails and shit
I screenshotted all (I think) of the charted islands, showing their shapes, names and grid location since I couldn't find the maps elsewhere. Some might be doubleups, I'm tired,
>scanning the horizon for ships >my sloop sinks due to a hole I didnt notice >lose a captains chest, marauders chest, golden snake, blue snake, golden chicken, black chicken
>log on solo at 6am >doing rank 3 gold hoarder voyage >first island find a message in a bottle >contains this map with the most chests i've ever seen on one island >finish voyage and doing message in a bottle >captains chest, marauders, captain, captain, marauder >heart starts palpitating >see message in a bottle on ground taking last captain's chest back to boat >deliver gunpowder >always pick up gunpowder kegs cause they're free 100g turnins anyway >turn in the 5 chests + another 3 from voyage i did and get 4k gold >go to turn in gunpowder keg at appointed outpost but get routed by another sloop that's a 2man >they chase me for almost 15 minutes before giving up >see shipwreck on the way back and get 2 merchant crates and a skull to turn in >arrive at outpost and see docked galleon on opposite side of island >get to turn my shit in and have an empty boat >sail directly into galleon >sword surf onto their boat >they're too busy shooting my boat to notice me >i drop their anchor >run up the crow's nest and start playing my instrument >they never find me >wait 3 minutes after they start sailing and drop anchor again >jump in water and then dodge 2 bullets and then jump on the ladder on the side >2 minutes go past and i run up and drop anchor again and jump off >made it back on and try to steer their boat into a rock but they actually watch the steering wheel so they finally 3v1 me
>right nigger user... don't judge lest ye be judge for being a dumb nigger.
Dominic Powell
It doesn't take too long to download compared to Sea of Thieves.
Owen Powell
i started upgrading my windows at like 6am on the 20th and i was playing sea of thieves by that night that's with just a normal 1tb HDD and below average internet
Isaiah Reed
>That guy who swims to shore >When the cannons are pointing right toward it
ive been dying for a pirate game and while this looks very empty i cant wait to steal peoples booty
Gabriel Fisher
it's as empty as you make it go to outposts and floating skulls to find people the interaction with other players won't come to you unless you seek it out or are unlucky if you don't want it
Kevin Adams
Pistol/blunderbuss is superior for boarding/defending against boarding.
Pistol/Sniper is best when you need to stay aboard and do difficult shots.
Adrian Fisher
>man galleon with friends >sloop heading right towards us >they get close >no signs of changing their course >shoot a warning shot across their bow >no response >pretty much this happens youtube.com/watch?v=2Unx2xYIc8g
Ryan Perez
>sail to island on my treasure map >no ships anchored in sight >jump off my ship and swim to the island >see some guy just standing on the beach >get ready to fight >he just walks towards me holding a cannonball >"Hey Wilson, someone came to visit us" >give him a weak laugh, grab my treasure and leave I thought reddit hated this game
what the fuck does this even mean? i understand the question and what you are implying but the very nature of your question outs you as a noob yourself
Isaac Stewart
Refuge in numbers and the hope that the rest of the crew can carry their freeloading ass.
don't ever use a belt and a jacket on a fat guy looks like absolute trash you can use a belt OR a jacket
Ryder Johnson
how would this game work on a VM?
Lincoln Baker
Best combo is gurl with boots, gloves, pants and hat
Levi Thomas
>Doing skeleton outpost >Scouting was at a minimal, suddenly spy enemy galleon rounding the other end of the island >Alert everyone to return to ship >they come to a full sail anchor, their position cant fire on us >We eyeball them as our ship turns to firing position >One errant sniper shot grazes by >All 4 of our cannons fire nonstop, no misses, all 10 shots each There was nothing left even for Davy Jones
Samuel Johnson
I like it /bigniggas/ unite
Oliver Gonzalez
>Run into sloop >they say they’ll be at the skull fort, and ask if we’d like to join >we agree >arrive later at the Fort >another sloop is there >we agree to split it three ways >ANOTHER FUCKING SLOOP SHOWS UP >All out chaos for thirty minutes as we try to sink and murder the newest ship >it’s fucking futile >we all agree to meet on the galleon to talk things out >the resulting teamwork to beat the fort was unparalleled >split up treasure evenly >we all wave and yell out to each other to stay safe This game is truly amazing
Bentley Bell
>rape some poor fuck in his sloop and bank his chests >he respawn nearby and chase me for 40 minutes straight >i sneak around islands, lay powder barrel in narrow path and shit >finally do some dumb shit and i sink >as a final fuck you i headshot him from the water, could hear him yell in a disgusting british accent "U PIECE OF SHIT" my sides
That belt looks more like an innertube than a cloth sash.
Jason Rogers
If you're in a position where you have to swim to shore someone in your crew sucks at steering the ship. You should be right next to the shore where you can jump out and run.
Isaac Torres
this
Parker Torres
You shouldn't take the helm of any ship if you cannot: 1. Park the ship right up beside the pier for easy offloading of a haul 2. Park up next to the coast of an island without damaging the ship 3. Call out when you need full/half/no sail to make maneuvers and communicate what you intend to do.
Cameron Foster
What are some memorable moments youve had with your crew? >sailing with some /sotg/ guys yesterday >spot lone sloop at an island, sails up >presume the guy is on a chest hunt on the island >few of us board his ship, sail it outwards slightly and take a couple of his chests back to our galleon "Was that all he had?" >"Ahh, we're nice pirates, we'll leave him one!" >whole crew chuckling as we see the guy we just robbed desperately run back to his ship and try to chase us down >mfw by then we were already speeding away Good times were had last night
Unless you have a well practiced 3 or 4 man a sloop is the superior ship. Its easier to coordinate and outmaneuver with it. You can squash 90% of pubbies with two good sailors.
debate me
Eli Reed
>chasing dude that stops at outpost >he stops there, I shoot myself over >intercept him at skull lady
>he's really polite and I end up helping him carry the chests that he then cashes in
I have a hard time killing people that aint dicks
Matthew Price
I'm still figuring things out myself. When do you use full/half/no sail?
Leo Nguyen
the lower the sail, the more speed the higher the sail, the less speed
half sail to maneuver around island close sail to line up with dock
Jayden Ortiz
Waste of cannonballs. >Send one onboard to steal their cannonballs and 1v4 them or at least distract them >Fire a few shots below the water into their hull >Play sad accordion music as they sink
Adam Kelly
>4 man galleon crew >two friends always constantly saying "THERE'S ROCKS OVER THERE THERE'S A SHIP OVER THERE" while literally doing nothing and just standing watching
if you got time to run your fucking moth you got time to get to a sail and set the angle or length it's a fucking galleon you NEED at least 3 people constantly manning every station to get it to maneuver as much as a sloop can with even just 1 person because there's 3 fucking sails i couldn't tell you how many times i've had to get off the wheel to manage not just the sail above me but the middle sail as well
Angel Reed
I have never experienced this. Everyone ALWAYS shoots first. Even if it's a 1 man sloop vs our galleon. If there's anyone at a fort it's a firefight instantly.
Dylan Rivera
Glad to see we're not the only nice pirates out there
Lincoln Diaz
that's because you only need one person to make the sloop work properly. you NEED 4 people to make a galleon work. not to mention a sloop can postpone its death indefinitely due to how fast you can bail ON TOP of having their cannonball barrel right next to the guns, so you can put down more or less consistent cannon fire while the driver controls the sails and rudder. anchor turns, while a bit of a crutch, are easy as fuck to do since it only takes like 3 seconds to raise anchor with both dudes turning.
Aaron Gray
>3. Call out when you need full/half/no sail to make maneuvers and communicate what you intend to do. I only wish my crews would listen to these instructions. Without these 1 and 2 aren't possible.
Isaac Thomas
The amount of chests and skulls we had, sometimes you have to go big or go home.
>This game took 4 years to make. >Still barely anything in it with rampant server issues.
Me and my sloopman spawned in with literally nothing in our inventories, no clothes, etc. I could possibly understand this game being so empty if the mechanics were locked down but its so fucking buggy, laggy and with shitty servers I cannot even comprehend why they launched with this.
If its going to be buggy as fuck just put more content in so once its debugged it will be decent. So many missed chances for cool shit.
mfw >no NPC policing authority like the British Empire who attack on sight >no option to become a privateer and do bounties on extremely notorious pirates on server or NPC pirates >no social hub with minigames even though the game has pretty fucking decent emotes and social interactions built in. could easily just be a safe zone with no turn-ins where your treasures get seized by the port authority if you dock there so no one can hide in it while being chased.
really glad I used the free pass. might pay for another month to see where it goes but if that dont add in some more decent content asap most people will be out. The pvp will get tired after a while.
I guarantee you pirate legend is nothing more than a nice hat as well. Cant wait till people find out. >no
