Elite Dangerous is currently in Chapter 1 of the Beyond expansion, patch number 3.0. It comes free with the Horizons expansion and aims to focus on refining core gameplay and new content.
Thargoids have crippled AEGIS-related starports in the Pleiades and are now appearing in human space. Be aware that while the Thargoid Interceptors are not normally hostile, Scout Marauders absolutely are. Starport repair requirements have been reduced to 10% of their original values and 3 have been fully repaired.

well I hope the guy manages to finish it, some early version I played like a year ago was pretty promising
Anthony Stewart
How complete is it at the moment?
Xavier Foster
its on version .8.1 so soon i imagine he has been cock teasing with dev blogs about stations, stations, new economy and the ability to have your own stations and controlling doctrines of your fleets and such i suspect summer this year it should be released
The thread was sat at bump limit for an hour, I quickly threw this one together in an attempt to get it up before the last one fell off the board. Update it yourself nexttime.
Liam Garcia
Neat, it did catch my eye.
Brody Harris
>Lakon Delta Alpha Delta
Levi Morgan
Whoah there CMDR, I'm quite happy in my endgame Cobra MK3 thank you very much o7o7o7
don't know man a party sounds awesome especially if they throw in some delicious cake
Grayson Richardson
Thankfully 2.0 is pulling ahead. And why isn't fixing base code one of the fucking options? >It would win every category hands down.
Josiah Sullivan
>most people want more ships and weapons or the fucking party since instead of actual mechanics I really fucking hate these idiots.
Joshua Walker
There's not even an option for "more ships and weapons", user.
Caleb Johnson
If it makes you feel better its the same with E:D and things like space legs.
Zachary Cox
You're right, I misread the 2.0 ships and weapons option.
Still, the fact that the fucking party system has so much support boggles the mind.
Julian Hughes
I haven't gotten around to downloading PTU yet. Have any bugs actually been fixed? How's performance?
When you're talking about software development with an organization this large, 3 months really isn't all that much time (speaking from experience), so I'm skeptical that they've actually gotten anything done.
Levi Ramirez
people are stress testing the server by spawning huge ships so performance in in the shitter currently
Jackson Cox
Define 'actual bugs' They're currently doing load tests on PTU servers to gather performance data, but when they're not doing that it's been pretty solid for me, running at 30-40fps even on a populated server. SV culling works and once you get away from the mess that is Olisar fps go up.
Ryan Gutierrez
So it's still gonna be obnoxious when 3.1 goes live because shitters still can't seem to understand "don't spawn caterpillars full of cargo". Great.
Good to hear that SV culling works as advertised, though.
Price increases on the RSI site: Cyclone 50->55 Razor 135->145 Prospector 140->155 Terrapin 195->220 Aquila 275->310
Cameron Sullivan
I remember the aquila always being $310. Am I imagining things?
Jonathan Roberts
Yes.
Isaac Bell
Yeah i am glad that someone looked at the original concept and decided it was garbage. The game model is quite nice.
Cameron Wright
Damn people are stupid, also they should really hid the results until voting is over, I know I did not vote naturally having seen this image.
Already a priority, these are just trimmings to give some short term illusion of control, these are all must features in the long run. Also the low level engineers would not be touching any of these other systems for the most part.
What good advice user, theres nothing better than spending some time in the great outdoors
Luis Reed
What do we expect from this years CitizenCon presentation? Last year we got procedural tech, some fuana, the truckstops - I doubt they'll do another CitCon video in the Stanton system. The year before was the homestead demo, featuring earlier planet tech and the sand worm, and then 2015 saw basically the first showing of PU content and whatever.
I think we'll see the first iteration of jump point travel, and maybe some sort of very pretty exploration mechanic presentation. It'll probably highlight the Carrack as the main ship. I doubt there will be more than that.
Blake Edwards
>What do we expect from this years CitizenCon presentation? Basic structure of a majority of the gameplay mechanics implemented. From Salvage and Mining to E-War. I also want to see this NPC combat AI they're working and have mentioned in passing a few times. If they can give me classic Rainbow Six breach plan-grade tactical control of NPCs I'll jizz my pants.
Gavin Russell
4.0 Preview ie being able to jump between systems.More Squadron 42 stuff they'll show off another mission with much better ai.
Well, they've got large parts of ArcCorp finished, and it looks like Hurston is coming along nicely too. The technical art team has got another 9 months to finish MicroTech and Crusader before 3.4 in December when they have full Stanton system planned to go along with object container streaming. It's not entirely infeasible, but obviously CIG has a terrible track record so who knows. We're also gonna get mining and probably salvage in 3.2, and I expect at least one or two other first pass mechanics in 3.4.
Since 3.4 is in December, we're probably gonna see a LOT of those planets, I especially expect to see the floating cities for Crusader. They'll also probably show off a bit more Squadron 42, though I don't expect a release date or anything.
They always show off some stuff that's further off down the road, too, so for that I expect to see a demo of jump points, probably also a planet/city in another system, similar to how they showed off Hurston. They'll also probably show off some more biomes, particular with more flora or fauna.
Justin Adams
They also restructured their teams so certain items ie planets may come faster now.
Robert Bailey
Yeah, like I said, it's not unbelievable that they'd finish them all by December, especially since they've shown us a good bit already.
But like all things with SC, I'll believe it when I see it. Hell, they literally haven't shown us a single glimpse of mining as far as I'm aware, even though it's supposed to be in the game in 3 months, and the retarded community is always clamoring for more ships and more vapid bullshit instead of actual game mechanics.
Sebastian Robinson
>the Terrapin fits in the Idris
its status as the ship to escort has been confirmed
Luis Butler
Can someone tell me if E:D is still activ, worth playing and worth getting the expacs ?
Leo Cox
I want an exploration cinematic where a Carrack team charts a jumppoint, and then is systematically killed off by the local critters in a dense jungle. It'll show new biomes, new creatures, jump points, and have a rad Vietnam vibe as the exploration team is ripped apart in the jungle.
Jayden Powell
It's shifted more to item 2.0, where it should be.
Gabriel Robinson
>E:D is still activ yes >worth playing for the first few hundred hours while you don't know any better, yes
More lies and false hype. They will probably tell us some part of the project is way closer than it is, but we won't find out until the simultaneous ship sale is over. A specific guess is they will tell us that they have a huge announcement for SQ42 coming and the announcement is that they are starting planning on SQ42.
>Doing Ceos/Sothing data mission stacking for fed rank grind >at 52% Lieutenant How long until Rear Admiral at this point? I really want to unlock the damn Vette before another eventual rank grind nerf fucks me in the ass.
Bentley Johnson
>implying you have a say in how Chris realizes his dream it's the same as every community vote thats ever occured, the baseline is "it's all going into the game but heres your chance to pretend you have a choice in how our $180m project fleshes out"
Ryder Barnes
> Carrack You mean the freelancer Dur, right user?
New version fucking when? Its ridiculously fun with some of the mods that let you make your own faction and take over the universe. Nexerin I think its called. Where is the magazine? Why does it have two receivers? Is that a bipod mounted on top in front of the scope? Why does the shoulder pad have two giant screws sticking out of it?
the game needs redundancy. if this was the ONLY sniper rifle in the game then yeah, nitpick your heart out. but we're talking about a game that already has like 8 in-lore small arms manufacturers, the differences between the guns is negligible and you've got a large number of the guns to pick from to suit yourself.
if you like it, good for you, if you don't good for you, you'll have plenty of options
Nicholas Jones
The magazine feeds upwards into the.. top barrel? The gas tube is actually another barrel? It eats nugget food? From 5 round magazines? At least the bipod kind of makes sense now.
Liam Flores
I like how they made this model and then decided what it really needed was two large screws sticking out of the recoil pad.
The point about having 8 different in-lore small arms manufacturers with small differences among them is a fair one, but I really dont think you should be nitpicking things based on realism since this is a freaking sci-fi game. >huuurrrr why is this bolt here, it will hurt my arm Come on dude don't do this to yourself, enjoy things!
Cooper Mitchell
>get interdicted by a clipper NPC in my asp x that boosts to like 400 >no weapons so just boosting away to frameshift >boost >boost >boost >"what the fuck is wrong with the FSD?" >boost >*looks behind* >guy is literally sniffing my engines
Got spooked as fuck desu
Mason Martin
One of at least two bolt counters here, just because it is sci-fi doesn't mean you can do whatever the fuck you want. You suspend certain aspects of disbelief because they're part of the story and setting, you don't just accept anything because of this. Imagine if there was friction in space on the flight model and you excused it by going OH MY GOD GUYS ITS SCI-FI JUST ENJOY IT.
Cooper Morgan
A small bolt on a weapon that isn't supposed to be there but is cause of the design its exactly the kind of thing you suspend belief for. Now if they did something like people being able to breathe in space or feel the wind in space that's when you can't suspend belief anymore and tell them "you can't just do whatever the fuck you want".
And what about the ridiculous double barrels, using a currently greater than 100 year old cartridge in a ridiculous and small magazine that has no way to feed to either barrel? If it was just the shoulder bruising bolts I'd just be laughing at it, instead of being deeply concerned if the designer had ever even seen a blank firing gun in a movie or whatever.
the dedicated gun devs are all euro-whatevers who have probably never been in the same room as a real military firearm. i know theres bits where theyre in the same room as a bunch of airsoft M4s and other rifles talking but obviously the refferences mean nothing if they don't really understand how the firearms function. they work backwards while never quite reaching the beginning (being the actual feeding and firing mechanisms)
they understand what makes a gun look cool but thats about it
Why even submit to an NPC? It's not like they can interdict you if your halfway decent at the evasion minigame.
Tyler Johnson
>they're reoffering the nox kue REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE LIMITED CHRIS YOU FUCK
Ayden Stewart
Clipper can do 400+ unengineered.
Anthony Martin
Submitting means you can just reactivate your FSD while facing the target, no dicking around getting back on target.
Christian Powell
>Ben, Sandi, or faggo lando giving a fuck
Zachary Hughes
I think Economy/Shopping UI Experience is the most important feature for 3.2. I agree that of those items listed, item 2.0 is the most important one to the game, but I do not think it's what we need right now in the PU releases since the biggest problem currently is player retentiveness. After the first couple weeks of a new release, no one is playing the game because there's nothing left to do, no goals to strive towards. Improving shopping/economy is a big step towards keeping players playing and interested which will also help the public image a lot since it will look like there actually is stuff to do now.
Dominic Hill
>implying CIG gives any fucks about existing backers If you ain't spending every month, they could not give less fucks about anything you care about or anything they said to get you to buy.
Matthew Morris
No one is playing the game because it plays like shit. It has nothing to do with content. ED has fuck all to do but driving in and out of mail slots and clicking menus and people do that shit non stop.
CIG just has to correct their cranial rectal inversion and make the game play correctly before they keep adding more ships that tank the server's fps and make combat impossible.
Christian Stewart
Finally made it to Sag A*. I don't even want to think about the return trip
>try to make a clip of reclaimer landing on a moon >decent performance, 30-40fps during the whole approach >landing gear deployed, about to touch down >server shits itself, drops to
