You're still at the low levels. Once you hit the cap and start doing High End Connects and shit you can't just autobattle your way through stuff and your equipment and the order it's in will really start to matter. I'm surprised the game doesn't have a general yet. It had a Fate Collab and in JP they just got an Evangelion collab, so I'd surmise it's moderately popular.
It's definitely pay2win though. The powercreep is fucking awful.

No, perhaps it's time you face the reality that most people simply don't spend money on mobage and even those that do aren't going to be willing to spend that much. Normal people don't even spend $5 on a mobage, let alone anything more than $50.
I mean the only thing that really matters is for Arena. Don't change your Arena group ever, stay in whatever one you are in. You can make it pretty far as F2P, but some autist megawhale is always gonna have all his equipment at skill 5 with level 50 weapons. And each new character released is progressively more broken. Just play who you think is cute. The fate characters are fucking awful for example, the only good one is Saber. Yet that collab probably brought in more money than any other.

It had the fanbase of a very strong IP behind it. It didn't have to create lore or a world from scratch, Fate was always huge.

Either get Luca or reroll for her. Thor has carried me through pretty much everything, but Luca is still the number 1 tank and is possible to get early on. Warriors will fall out of the fucking sky, as will Archers, Good mages are hard to find, Tanks even harder.
Urd is the Merlin of this game, one of the few units who heals so roll Star Party for her and you'll be golden.

As a F2P, Arena will be your main source of gems. I get 80 a day from Arena and 80 from Grand Arena. If you can break into the top 100, you'll get some ridiculous daily gems, but I haven't been arsed to try that hard yet.
