Is the kinect tracking thing worth? I've heard that it only works when you're facing to the cam.

It’s only like 40 bucks, so I’d say yes. It’s not as good as trackers and you do have to mostly face the Kinect, but it works and lets you do a lot more than if you didn’t have it.
Or, provided you already spent extra own a Vive and not a Rift, you can drop another $300+ for hockey pucks you zip tie to your feet and waist that run out of battery.

I'd buy a cheaper old Vive and wait for the Pro+Knuckles combo or something (coming to you in 2050!). What they're doing with the pro right now is retarded and seems to be exclusively for early adopters with a lot disposable income. Or just buy a Rift to spite them (but Rift also has a lot of cons where I'd say "buy a Vive to spite them"). World is 120k tris, 2 meshes, 8 materials (before collision meshes and props). It's hard to know what's considered optimized for a world but it never dropped below 90 fps with 6 players in the instance so it should be fine for loading.
