I am now aware of the fact that MHW doesn’t have any sort of bar brawl or wrestling mechanic. Why can’t you have sweaty wrestling matches with other hunters up at the gathering hub to prove your strength? Every warrior society in history has partaken in tests of strength like this to show off their might. When I was in the Marines we grappled all the time, in and out of country. Yet all this game has is shitty arm wrestling.

It's okay. KO thresholds in multiplayer ironically make it better in single player than in groups but it's very easy to carry groups with Jho's horn because of Attack Up and Defense Up. If you could actually KO a monster then it would be great.
To be fair, it takes a fairly high IQ to understand Hunting Horn. You have to know exactly how to use all 6 of its basic attacks and their properties as well as all 8 recital attacks to perform at the intended level. You have to know relative damage values, exhaust values, KO values, you have to have a handle on all of their weird attack animations and know exactly in what situations to use each one, you have to somehow combine that with playing the proper notes to get your songs out, and you have to know when you have an opening to recite or not. It's the single most diverse and complicated weapon in the game, with literally 6 different attack options at any given moment (not even counting recitals) all with very different and special properties.
Compare that to most weapons where you're literally just doing the same attack or attack string over and over and over and over. Even then I could respect it if the weapon forced you to have good knowledge of fundamentals and that "attack over and over in the same way" were part of the weapon (lance, old-GS, old-hammer, old-bow, bowguns), but MHW has basically made it so that HH is the only "true" weapon left while everything else has a billion options but only one good one (spam the same special super anime move over and over for infinity damage).
You absolutely are not going to get good hunt times with HH because it's still a fucking Monster Hunter weapon rather than some crazy overpowered abomination that takes no learning, skill, or practice.

It isn't, but you're not doing anything exciting with the weapon. You're invisibly making your team's numbers bigger and preventing them from dying to tempered monsters with Defense Up but without actually knocking the fucker over it feels underwhelming.

This is true, but we have no idea how long ago the war took place. Given enough time, people would tend to accidentally discover stuff. That's mostly how science progressed in the early centuries, up until a century ago. Serendipity is one hell of a drive. You'd think that with all the minerals and materials in the hand of blacksmiths, they would have rediscoverred primitive physic concepts like magnetism, or electricity generation. Also, you can't completely wipe curiosity out; there will always be people trying to understand how things work.
I'm not talking about going back to building huge factories, or highly-specialised techniques/science right away, but when you look back, most physicists and scientists discovering or inventing things were people working alone, or with a small group of people. Once you get things kickstarted, it can only progress further. Also, I guess reverse-engineering can be a thing, too. I can't believe there's absolutely no trace of ancient civilisation beyond a few stones, unless dragons made sure every single bit of humanity-related stuff, down to a single bolt, was destroyed.
Other weapons lack stagger power and can't KO either. It does plenty of damage, just because it's the weakest doesn't mean it's a waste of a party member. And an exciting weapon is just your opinion man

I get that, and I use Hunting Horn as well, sometimes. It's just not in a great spot because you have a highly multiplayer focused weapon that's best in single player and that's very disappointing to me. user asked how the weapon is and "just okay" is the answer I have to give. If you could reliably smack a bitch into KO 2~ times per hunt then I would say it's amazing.

I say it's unexciting because the largest impact it has, Attack Up, is not visible to you as the player. I understand that's a personal thing but what else do you want as an answer except opinions?
