History proves that dictatorships do not grow out of strong & successful governments, but out of weak and helpless ones

>History proves that dictatorships do not grow out of strong & successful governments, but out of weak and helpless ones

was he right?

Kind of ironic of a dictator to say something like that

He kept winning elections. The USA only had term-limits because the parties were afraid popular support of specific presidential candidates would outweight popular support for the party's themselves - people still vote for their teams more so than for specific leaders.

t. Thomas Dewey

Success breeds jealousy.

thank god he died before the war ended and Truman was the one negotiating with Stalin. FDR was a fucking retarded leftist who thought Stalin was "hehe just like us!" and let him LITERALLY get away with murder

At least he didn't get assraped in an election before the negotiations like Churchill did.

FDR was easily the greatest politician in American history. That boy had the entire US a Democrat stronghold up until the 1990s. Look at what party controlled the house of representatives from the end of WW2 until Clinton.

Meant to post this graph.

From 1935-1993 the republicans only controlled the HoR for a combined total of FOUR YEARS on the back of the coalition forged by FDR

hello, Cleetus

What? No. Cletus was absolutely an FDR voter; not just because of the South's natural Democratic tendencies at the time but because the New Deal was hugely beneficial to poor white Southerners who got jobs and energy (the TVA) out of it. Know a guy whose grandparents in Arkansas had two pictures in their living room; one of Jesus and one of FDR.

but modern cleetus hates him because >muh reagan

Not really, most people still love FDR for the same reason people still love Reagan.
Vast overrating of the effects they had while in office by media and others.

The South was actually Reagan's weakest region in the 1980 election. Carter held Georgia and a slight breeze would have flipped every Southern state except Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and Virginia.

>Cletus likes Reagan
Wanna know how I know you're not American?

The south sucked Jimmy Carter's dick for being a good ol' boy and voted for Clinton.

Jim Webb for president WHEN?

Marius was consul for 7 years and was called a rex

FDR was president for 12 and was called a hero (though probably because he didn't purge anyone).

agreed he ushered in a wonderful era

Holy shit, you're telling me he abolished elections while he were president or something like that?

he's probably using the Roman definition of dictator
