From what i can tell he only keeps claiming hes part of pedophile ring but isnt giving out names even though he has had multiple chances to do so. Hes serving life in prison now. Would be more contreversial if he actually, you know, backed up his words.

Well he got life in prison which is the maximum sentance. Hes already been in prison for almost 20 years and still the pedophile politicians havent faked his death or killed him. If hes blackmailing someone then hes doing a bad job at it. His stunt also caused it so hes never getting pardoned either so he is going to rot in prison forever at this rate.

Oh and he escaped when he was in court, plenty of chances to come out with the corrupt politicians. He isnt in isolation as far as im aware. He even recently asked for a pardon on good behavior but got rejected. Basically go to /x/ if you think theres some conspiracy here.

If he was afraid for his life then he wouldnt have been screaming that he has friends in high places in the first place. Youd have to be an immense imbecil in the first place to even say something like that and hope you could actually blackmail someone still. because there was zero actual evidence. Dutroux's lawyers just threw out every ridiculous accusation they could in the hopes of improving their bargaining position.

If it were true, Dutroux would have names and evidence linking powerful people to these crimes, which begs the question: 1) why wouldn't they have killed him and 2) since they haven't why wouldn't he have traded on this evidence for a lesser sentence? Instead, all he can come up with is some vague references to 'top politicians, civil servants and policemen'. He's never been able to give names or credible evidence linking important people to him.

Why would elite pedophiles get involved with Dutroux in the first place? He had a long history of petty crime, and a long history of getting caught for petty crime. He was well known to police and it was pretty much inevitable that he would end up getting caught for something.

Remember, two of his victims were found alive. They never reported being raped by anyone other than Dutroux.

The fact is that Dutroux was just an ordinary criminal and the reason the Belgian police failed to catch him for so long is because they were incompetent. Never attribute to malice that which had be explained by stupidity
